"So far, it feels real."Kim made only birdies and pars on Friday. On the final two holes, he drained a 17-foot putt and the 24-footer to secure the 59."It was a pretty poor wedge shot to put myself there," Kim said of his putt on 18. "I was pretty comfortable with the read, it was pretty good uphill and I just thought to myself 'make sure to get it there, even if you hit it too hard' and about 3 feet out I was just hoping it wouldn't lip out and it went in."The 59 is the first of the 2026 PGA Tour season and a new course record at TPC Twin Cities. Jake Knapp was the last player to achieve the feat during the 2025 Cognizant Classic.Kim has jumped into first place after 36 holes. Hes seeking his first win on the PGA Tour since the 2018 John Deere Classic.
