The roar of NASCAR engines is returning to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and fans are already gathering near the track ahead of Sundays Brickyard 400.While some camping lots may appear less crowded than in previous years, longtime fans say the weekend is about more than the size of the crowd. It is about the NASCAR community.Harrison Miller has attended the Brickyard 400 since he was 5 years old. This weekend marks his 14th time at the race.A devoted Joey Logano fan, Miller is arriving after watching his favorite driver lead 323 laps and win last weekend.I was about as excited as Ive ever been in my entire life, Miller said.Ken Lash has an even longer history with racing in Indianapolis. He has attended events in the city since 1978.Its working on 50 years, Lash said.Fans said they are looking forward to the cars, speed, noise and atmosphere Sunday. Until the green flag waves, campers are passing the time together and enjoying the community surrounding the race.Theres nothing like watching the cars go screaming by, one fan said.
