Left knee irritation has kept Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani from pitching since July 3. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts certainly won't be rushing him back to the mound.While speaking to reporters before Friday's 4-2 win over the New York Mets, Roberts shut down any notion of Ohtani returning to the rotation next week."I feel very good that it won't be next week," Roberts said. "Every player wants to get back out there and do what they do. But I think he understands it's not about July, it's about October. So we've already taken a lot of time to get him back to full health, so we're not going to start earlier than we need to."Ohtani's knee doesn't bother him while hitting, so he's remained a fixture atop the Dodgers' batting order. This season he's batting .286 with 22 home runs, 61 RBI and a .920 OPS. Over 14 starts as a pitcher, he's 8-2 with a 1.79 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP.When will Shohei Ohtani pitch again?It's unclear. Roberts said last weekend it'd be "some time" until another Ohtani start.
