Washington also had a long snapper and four wide receivers in Ashburn to get some punting work in. Matt Haack was signed per his agent, and will likely be the teams punter until Way is cleared. A corresponding roster move will need to be made before hes officially signed. Tress Way is also one of the best holders in the league, a job that Haack will inherit, and one that will be important in the kicking battle between incumbent Jake Moody and UDFA rookie Drew Stevens.Peters also mentioned that second-year LB Kain Medrano is dealing with a hamstring injury from offseason training. The Commanders worked out a bunch of guys today, per the transaction wire. They just can't quit River Cracraft. pic.twitter.com/v6ksRB4uaf Ben Standig (@BenStandig) July 28, 2026The Commanders placed three players on the active/PUP list on Saturday, and they arent expected to be ready to start camp on the practice fields with the rest of the team. Adam Peters said that Trey Amos is still sidelined due to some soft tissue soreness. The second-year CB suffered a fractured fibula during a loss to the Lions on November 9th, ending his rookie campaign. Washington signed veteran Rasul Douglas last week, and added veterans Amik Robertson and Akhello Witherspoon earlier this year in free agency.Adam Peters says CB Trey Amos (fractured fibula) remains sidelined because he felt some soft tissue soreness this offseason. Added that the staff is being cautious here but Amos is in a good position overall. Ben Standig (@BenStandig) July 28, 2026Ben Standig reports that defensive linemen Dorance Armstrong(ACL) and Deatrich Wise Jr(quad) are both expected to stay on the active/PUP list for a few more weeks. This would keep them out of a good portion of training camp, and possibly preseason games depending on when they are cleared to return to action. Both players were injured playing for Washington last year, and Adam Peters worked to restock the DL this offseason. The Commanders signed Odafe Oweh, Charles Omenihu, and KLavon Chaisson for new DC Daronte Jones defense.Forgot to tweet out injury updates for DEs Dorance Armstrong (ACL) and Deatrich Wise (torn quad). I'm told both are expected to remain on the PUP list for another couple of weeks.
