The Green Bay Packers legend announced his diagnosis in an interview with Tyler Dunne of the Go Long podcast and Substack this morning.Green, just 49 years old, is the Packers all-time leading rusher, and he now faces what could be the biggest challenge of his life. Parkinsons is a degenerative nerve condition with no cure, but with treatment his quality of life could remain high for a long time.Green is unfortunately just the latest Packers great to face a Parkinsons diagnosis. Brett Favre announced he had the disease in 2024, saying hes battled joint stiffness and muscle weakness, as well as difficulty swallowing, all significant symptoms of the disease.I dont think its editorializing to say this is terrible news. Green is a legend for a reason, and his 2003 season stands as one of the very best in Packers history. He has a real claim as the best ballcarrier the Packers have ever seen, and well probably never see a Packers player carry the volume of touches he did again. Between rushing attempts and receptions, Green compiled a whopping 405 regular season touches in 2003.
