Keegan Bradley celebrates son Logan qualifying for next stage of Drive, Chip & Putt
With three holes to go en route to shooting 5-under 65 at Detroit Golf Club on Thursday in the opening round of the Rocket Classic, Keegan Bradleys caddie, Scottie Veil, shared good news from his phone that brought a smile to his face.Yeah, my son got through Drive, Chip & Putt today. I'm just so proud of him, really cool, Bradley said. That would be son Logan, who finished third in the Boys 7-9 age group at a local qualifier at the Club of Quail Ridge in Boynton Beach, Florida. That is good enough to advance to a sub-regionalqualifier on Aug. 15 at BallenIsles CC.He was going at 8:40, so I was thinking about it and I kind of, I wanted to know but I didn't want to know, Bradley said. Then my caddie told me on my third-to-last hole, he showed me that he made it. I'm just so happy for him. Those who move on from the next stage of qualifying will make it into one of the regional finals at TPC Sawgrass and the winner will advance to the 2027 Drive, Chip and Putt final at Augusta National, which will be conducted on the Sunday before Masters week.I don't care if he makes it, I'm just happy that he had a good time, said Bradley, the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain and eight-time Tour winner. He's been working really hard on it, so I'm really pumped for him.Speaking of kids, Bradley, who turned 40 last month, played with the Tours latest new kid on the block in Jackson Koivun, the winner of last weeks 3M Open in just his third career pro start. He's just an incredible player, Bradley said. How old is he, 20, 21, something in there? Yeah, he seems more mature and older, which makes him unique is a lot of the younger players that I have seen come out that are really good play a much different game. He's not a 195-ball speed guy, he's just a really solid player. I was really impressed.Adam Schupak is a senior writer for Golfweek, covering the PGA Tour. This article originally appeared on Golfweek: Keegan Bradley celebrates son Logan qualifying for next stage of Drive, Chip & Putt
