The Athletic ran that exercise last year, looking at every teams revenue and inherent value based on brand power, conference value, and more.Wisconsin came in 19th in the country last year with a valuation of $801 million, which topped schools like Iowa ($709 million), Indiana ($386 million), Arkansas ($646 million), Michigan State ($708 million), Clemson ($665 million), Minnesota ($562 million), and more.Where did they come in the rankings this year?Interestingly enough, the Badgers came in at No. 19 again, only this time at a valuation of $922 million, remaining one of the top powers in college athletics. That got them ahead of Florida State, which fell two spots to No. 20 at an $819 million valuation, and still ahead of Iowa, which remained at No. 21 at an $806 million valuation.This trio shows the emphasis we put on conference affiliation, The Athletics Matt Baker said in regards to Wisconsin, Florida State, and Iowa. As Congress debates legislation thatcould freeze or limit realignment, we place an even greater premium on being in the Big Ten or SEC. That was good for Iowa and Wisconsin. The flip side is that theres more uncertainty over whether the Seminoles will have a viable way to get into the Power 2. That (and their continued on-field struggles) led us to downgrade FSU. The valuation ofSporticos top WNBA team, the Golden State Valkyries, is in the middle of this bunch at $850 million.At No. 19, Wisconsin ranked as the eighth-highest Big Ten team.
