But through multiple loans and even more head coaches, the Chelsea Academy graduate managed to convince those in charge of his quality and reliability in defense, and was always there were we needed him.But after nearly two decades at the club, starting at the age of eight to his recently celebrated 27th birthday, Chalobah looks to be on his way out for good. According to multiple reports, including from Fabrizio Romano and The Athletic, Chelsea and Como 1907 have agreed a 36m deal for his transfer, which breaks down into a 30m fixed fee and 6m in add-ons (said to be easy to reach), and also includes a sell-on clause just in case. These talks had been going on for a while, with Chelsea successfully negotiating up the price from the low 20s.Chalobah, who was down to the final two years of his contract, set a career high with 47 appearances in all competitions last season, and he played in 34 of our 38 Premier League games, starting 31. It wasnt a great season last year overall, but without him, it wouldve been even worse and more chaotic. Overall, he leaves the club with 151 senior appearances, which is among the highest for Academy grads in the past couple highest.
