Augsburg reject two Hull City bids for rising German talent Mert KmrHull City have had two concrete offers rejected for FC Augsburg attacker Mert Kmr. Sky Germany reporter Kerry Hau reports that the newly promoted Premier League club initially offered 8m before increasing its proposal to 9m.Neither bid satisfied Augsburg, who are seeking a guaranteed fee of between 13m and 14m. The Fuggerstdter also want achievable bonuses and a substantial sell-on percentage included in any agreement. Talks between the clubs nevertheless remain ongoing.Get German Football News first reported Hulls interest in Kmr last week before a subsequent update revealed that the 21-year-old was open to testing himself in England. No agreement has yet been reached between the player and the Tigers, however, with Kmr still negotiating the terms of a potential contract.Augsburg retain considerable leverage. Kmr signed a new deal through 2029 last summer, and the contract does not contain a release clause. The Bundesliga club are therefore under no pressure to accept a proposal below their valuation. The stance also mirrors Augsburgs handling of January interest from Beikta. The Turkish club submitted an initial 10m bid before raising its offer to 12m, yet Kmr remained in Bavaria.Augsburg have also held firm in the matter of another Premier League clubs pursuit of their player. Crystal Palaces attempts to acquire Chrislain Matsima were ultimately rebuffed. The Dachau native made 28 Bundesliga appearances last season, starting 18 matches and contributing two goals and five assists. His flexibility enables him to operate as a No. 10, on the right, behind a striker, or as a false nine.Hull must now decide whether to move closer to Augsburgs demands while continuing negotiations with the player.GGFN|Peter Weis
