Panthers pass rusher discusses reasoning behind his social media break
Competing in the NFL requires more than just regular practice. These days, the best athletes maintain their physical and mental health at all timesand every part of their routine reflects a dedication to the game.Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Princely Umnamielen has taken a number of steps to improve his well-being, including a break from Twitter/X . . . until he makes the Pro Bowl. The second-year pass rusher was asked about his hiatus after Monday's training camp session."I was on the phone with my uncle/mentor and he was talking about how social media is just no good and then he went on to talk about how Twitter's especially not goodhe was like, there's no need to even have Twitter," Umanmielen stated. "So then I did it, ain't been on there since. "Twitter was step oneand then, I was gonna try to get off everything eventually. Instagram is the hardest. They done made some type of algorithm that made it super addicting, but I'm trying to at least take a few months break from all social media. So step one was Twitter."He also spoke about getting more sleep, and embracing his faith after getting baptized.Making the Pro Bowl is a high bar, but the opportunity could be there for Umanmielen. The 24-year-old will likely see more opportunities off the edge in the absence of fellow 2025 draftee and starter Nic Scourton, who sustained a season-ending ACL tear at the start of camp.If Umanmielen can even slip past Pat Jones II and get himself into the starting lineup, then the 24-year-old should be pleasedwhether that inspires him to get back on Twitter or not.Follow@ThePanthersWireon Twitter/X for more Panthers content. This article originally appeared on Panthers Wire: Panthers pass rusher discusses reasoning behind his social media break
