Area drivers competed in weekend racing programs at four area tracks
WATERTOWN Street stock driver Tommy Pogones of Princeton, Minnesota, took home the $1,000 prize for winning the 25-lap feature during the Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, racing program at Casino Speedway.The program featured the DRC.TV Street Stock Tour and 17 street stocks were on hand along with 19 Midwest modifieds, 13 late models and 11 hornets.Todd Stark of Watertown won his second-straight Midwest modified feature and Dylan Tirrel of White won his fourth hornets feature of the season. Thomas Weisgram of Northville celebrated his first late model feature win.Heat winners were Pogones, Jayden Bogh of Huron and Jason Marko of Watertown, street stocks; Weisgram and Mike Stearns of Aberdeen, late models; Luke Johnson of Miller, Dawson Zabel of Selby and Darren Engesser of Gary, Midwest modifieds; and Tirrel and Adam VanDerostyne of Canby (Minn.), hornets.The Reliabank Kids Night program, featuing a meet and greet with drivers at 5:30 p.m. is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 9. All six regular classes of cars will take part in the program, which is set to open at 6 p.m.Brown County SpeedwayABERDEEN Six classes and 88 cars competed during the racing program on Friday, July 31.Feature winners included Mike Stearns of Aberdeen, modifieds; Dusty Mund of Lisbon (N.D.), legends; Kent Arment of Aberdeen, late models; Todd Stark of Watertown, Midwest modifieds; Jodie Michaelsohn of Aberdeen, street stocks; and Bryson North of Huron, super stocks.It was Stearns' fifth modified feature win of the season at BCS. Mund has four feature wins, Arment three, Stark two and Michaelsohn and North one apiece in 2026.Stearns and Mund also won heat races along with Thomas Weisgram of Northville and Chad Becker of Aberdeen, late models; Scott Hansen of Garden City, Midwest modifeds; and Stewart Schipke of Aberdeen, super stocks.The next scheduled program is set for Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.Madison SpeedwayMADISON, MN Five area drivers won feature races during the DRC.TV Street Stock Tour night program on Saturday, Aug. 1.Trevor Nelson of Warner (super stocks) and Mike Stearns of Aberdeen (modifieds) each won their second features of the season along with Ian Tjaden of Boyd, Minn., (pure stocks). Scott Tofte of Madison, Minn.,(Midwest modifieds) and Dylan Tirrel of White (hornets) each posted their first feature wins of the season.Tjaden, Stearns, Tirrel and Nelson also won heats. Other area heat winners were Tofte, Ryan Flaten of Madison (Minn.) and Jason Anderson of Clear Lake, Midwest modifieds; and Adam VanDerostyne of Canby (Minn.), hornets.There were 111 cars in the field, led by 29 hornets, 27 street stocks, 18 Midwest modifieds, 15 pure stocks, 13 super stocks and nine modifieds.The next scheduled racing program is set for Saturday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.LAST WEEK'S AREA RACING: Area drivers compete in racing events at three Minnesota tracksI-94 SpeedwayFERGUS FALLS, Minn.
