Patriots release rookie TE, add another WR to crowded room
The New England Patriots announced that they claimed third-year wide receiver Tejhaun Palmer off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday.Palmer was selected by the Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft. He spent the last two seasons on Arizonas practice squad and made his NFL debut in January. He was released by the Cardinals organization on Monday. The Patriots waived tight end Jeremiah Franklin to make room for Palmer.Palmer played for Snow College before transferring to UAB. He earned a reputation as a playmaker there, recording 18.3 yards per catch in his senior year.The Patriots are loaded at wide receiver. Things are so deep at receiver that the team might have to contemplate keeping seven players at the position on the final roster. Palmer will have his work cut out in separating himself from the pack enough to get a roster opportunity.
