Rachaad White wasn't messing around on Tuesday.The NFL veteran of four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't beat around the bush. Of course, there is one very interesting fact about this Rachaad White quote that mustn't be overlooked. You see, in White's rookie year, the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Bucs was a fella playing his last NFL season. You may have heard of him...Tom Brady.White was at Tampa Bay during the 2022-2025 seasons, and Brady was the starting quarterback in Tampa Bay during the 2020-2022 seasons. Why would White say that Daniels is the best quarterback he has enjoyed as a teammate? Well, might there be a couple of reasons?First, Daniels was the quarterback at Arizona State when White was a Sun Devil running back teammate. They are college buddies, and it is not unusual when young people leave home; they are much more vulnerable than they ever dared imagine or admit, thus college friendships/relationships can quickly become lifelong, whether good or bad.Secondly, the fact that the Bucs were only 8-9 in Tom Brady's final NFL season (White's rookie season) may be helping White not to consider Brady the best quarterback as a teammate. That final season in Tampa was an odd one in the sense that the Bucs seemed to pass entirely too much. As a result, Brady led the NFL in attempts that season with 733. Although Brady also led the NFL in receptions in 2022 with 490, he finished his career with a career-low yards per passing attempt at only 6.4. BTW, it was 7.6 and 7.4 in Brady's first two Buccaneers seasons.Thirdly, White could be referring to the fact that Daniels telephoned White one night after White's slow start to this 2026 Commanders training camp. According to White, Daniels was being a leader, checking in on White to see if he was okay, but also challenging White to meet the challenge. White received what Daniels had to say well, believing it was coming from a friend.White claims that Daniels was the same type of person at Arizona State: the smile, the leadership, the hard work. White says he naturally followed Daniels at Arizona State, and he plans to do the same here in Washington with the Commanders. White anticipated the Brady comparison, so he got out in front of it, saying he has a lot of love for Brady, but he has been saying since he was in Tempe that Daniels is the best quarterback he has played with.For whatever it's worth, White did say he has a lot of love for Brady, but he was saying this about Daniels before he ever played with Brady. Remember, It's all subjective, and one man's opinion, of course, but the fan base would certainly want to hear about this.
