Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Reds fans and fans across the country.The Cincinnati Reds sat idle for almost the entire run-up to the August 3rd trade deadline. As the final hour neared, though, they managed to make a few moves at the periphery of their roster to keep the day from being a total shutout.To Cleveland went 1B/DH Nathaniel Lowe, with 19 year old pitcher Alejandro Rivera coming back to Cincinnati as the return. Rivera is still incredibly far off in terms of a big league opportunity, but he boasts a wealth of talent not bad considering Lowe came into camp on a minor league deal to begin the year.Shortly afterwards, the Reds announced theyd picked up $250,000 of international bonus pool money from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for veteran lefty reliever Caleb Ferguson. Eugenio Suarez did not get moved, nor did starter Brady Singer. The Reds held on to those pending free agents as well as the likes of Pierce Johnson and Brock Burke, too. They even held on to catcher Tyler Stephenson despite the mid-season trade market for catchers being as active as I can remember.On the whole, this trade deadline may end up much more about who they did not deal rather than who got shipped out, especially if they find a way to keep playing the game as well as they have over the last three weeks.So, give us your grade on the Reds deadline!
