Brooks had signed a four-year, $86 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies. He was set to enter the final year of that contract this fall, and would have hit free agency next summer. Now, though, hell be a key piece for the Suns for years to come. Brooks, who was dealt to the Suns as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets last summer, averaged a career-high 20.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in Phoenix. He helped the team reach the playoffs, too, though they ended up getting swept in the opening round by the Oklahoma City Thunder.This post will be updated with more information shortly.
