Undeniable biological advantages: NFL star turned politician does not hold back on trans athletes
. Mandatory Credit: Stephen Lew-USA TODAY SportsThe debate around transgender athletes participating in womens sports has reached all-time highs after comments on the subject by Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham and tennis stars Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff. Now, Jay Feely, a former NFL placekicker who is now the Republican nominee forArizonas 1st congressional district, isgiving his thoughts on the topic. We should be willing to stand up and say, hey, we dont want men competing in womens sports, Feely said in a video shared to social media. We wanna protect those womens sports because they have biological advantages. If every guy who didnt make it in college and didnt get into the NBA decided, you know what, I wanna go play in the WNBA right now, Im gonna identify as a woman, there wouldnt be any women in the WNBA. There wouldnt be a single woman. Caitlin Clark would not be able to compete against these men who go because of the physical advantages that they have. That is not what we should be supporting. That doesnt mean that you dont love people. It doesnt mean that youre not kind to people, but it means that youre talking about rational thingsShould, should young girls and women have to go into a locker room and have a man who identifies as a woman changing there? No, absolutely not, you know. And thats not being unkind; thats just being thoughtful and rational to protect our girls and protect their spaces and to give them the, the safety and the protection that they deserve.Feely then responded to the video with a post on X.There are undeniable biological advantages that make allowing men to compete in womens sports simply unfair. Its common sense. Women shouldnt be forced to share a locker room with a man. Our girls deserve better. Ill always fight to protect the integrity of womens athletics.from @JayFeely:If every mens college player who couldnt make it into the NBA decided to identify as woman to play in the WNBA, there wouldnt be a SINGLE woman in the WNBA even Caitlin Clark because of the physical advantages that they have.#ProtectWomensSportspic.twitter.com/mhjEubcUak Team Feely (@TeamFeelyAZ) August 5, 2026The post Undeniable biological advantages: NFL star turned politician does not hold back on trans athletes appeared first on The Comeback: Todays Top Sports Stories & Reactions.
