Bills' CJ Gardner-Johnson back from injury then calls out his former team
C.J. Gardner-Johnson is quickly showing his personality with the Buffalo Bills. That's what head coach Joe Brady called it this week, at least. "As you guys know, with his personality, and you know he's in a good place, and so, excited for him to when he's ready to practice. He'll be back out here, and we'll be good to go," Brady said earlier this week discussing Gardner-Johnson's injury status. Gardner-Johnson headlines certainly were all over the place on Thursday during Day 6 of Bills training camp. To start Thursday's practice, Gardner-Johnson was spotted back on the practice field. There was a huge injury concern was Gardner-Johnson's calf just five days ago but on Day 6 the defensive back was back to a full practice. That's great news. Just moments after practice, Gardner-Johnson's spotlight turned to the Houston Texans. The Texans are the team Gardner-Johnson was with at the start of last season. After three games, his abruptly tenure ended in Houston. Gardner-Johnson never commented on it... no one has... until now. "All the bull---- and the lies," Gardner-Johnson said. "I just can't wait to see them.""They released me because I wasn't 'gelling with the team' and I 'didn't fit well.' Why hasn't the coach spoke up about it?" Gardner-Johnson added. The head coach of the Texans since 2023 is DeMeco Ryans. It sounds like there is bad blood. Regardless, from starting training camp with live streaming on social media to calling out his former team, there is rarely a dull moment with Gardner-Johnson... who has a realistic shot at starting at safety in Buffalo in 2026.
