At forward, he included George, who will make $54.1 million in 2026-27, alongside Warriors star Jimmy Butler ($56.8 million) and Kings forward De'Andre Hunter ($24.9 million)."George played 37 games last year and 41 the season before," Hughes wrote. "He's topped 56 just once since 2018-19 and is entering his 17th NBA season. He's still a quality starter who impacts games with his three-point shooting, off-ball defense and accomplished passing at a forward spot. But the volume of those contributions is almost guaranteed to fall short of justifying his salary."Availability has been an issue for George, but he was a difference-maker when he played last season.In 37 games, George averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting 39.2 percent from 3.
