Conor McGregor says 'mindset is unbreakable' after undergoing surgery
Conor McGregor, reclining shirtless in the sun, provided the latest post-surgery update near palm trees and the beach and with his right knee in what appeared to be a brace.The UFC star said he had surgery this week on an injured ACL and meniscus that he apparently injured during his comeback fight July 11.What's up folks? The Mac is back, McGregor said during a video posted on social media. My knee is repaired. Surgery was a success and I'm on the road to recovery.That should tell you all you need to know about my mindset. Straight into surgery, knee repaired and on the road. Let's go."McGregor, 38, has said he hopes to return to the octagon by next summer and finish his UFC contract that has one fight left.In the video, he said he wanted to give a shout out to Dominic Cruz, the retired UFC fighter who returned from multiple ACL tears and reclaimed the bantamweight title. He also mentioned former UFC star George St. Pierre and Tom Brady, other athletes who recovered from knee injuries similar to McGregors.These are my motivation here, especially the fighting boys, McGregor said. You, Cruz. Unstoppable, baby. My mindset is unstoppable, unbreakable.McGregor appeared to injure himself when he opened the right with a flying kick in his first fight in five years. The referee stopped the fight 69 seconds after it started and Holloway won by TKO.The right knee wasnt his only focus in the video update.I want to do something about this hair, McGregor said, still sporting the mohawk he wore into the Octagon for his comeback fight.
