More than 60,000 fans filed into Lambeau Field on Friday for the Green Bay Packers' annual Family Night practice.The unique tradition gives fans a chance to watch their favorite team compete against one another and allows young players to experience what it's like to play in a packed NFL stadium.From sloppy execution to far too many penalties, Green Bay looked like a team that still has a lot of work to do before its regular-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Sep. 13. 15 players sat out Friday's practice, including key pieces like Tucker Kraft, Zach Bako-Bewele, Josh Jacobs and Devonte Wyatt. Getting them back should provide a noticeable boost.On the bright side, at least the practice was livestreamed so we were able to watch it and identify some standouts. Let's dive in.WR Matthew GoldenIt didnt matter whether it was 1-on-1 or 11-on-11; no one seemed to be able to cover Golden. He got the better of Green Bay No. 1 corner Keisean Nixon on three separate occasions in 1-on-1s before taking the top off the defense for a 52-yard touchdown during a team period. Golden looked like a receiver ready to make a big jump in year 2.Edge Barryn SorrellDefensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon had high praise when discussing Sorrell earlier this week. He responded with a standout performance on Family Night, highlighted by three impressive run stops against MarShawn Lloyd, resulting in either a loss or no gain. Sorrell also had a big day on Tuesday when he had multiple wins in 1-on-1s and a pick-six during 11-on-11. The Packers need someone to step up at edge in Micah Parsons' absence to begin the regular season, and last year's fourth-round pick has had an impressive camp.K Trey SmackThe pressure of kicking inside a packed NFL stadium didn't completely overwhelm Smack, who made six of his seven field goal attempts on Friday. His makes came from 33, 35, 38, 43, 45, and 47 yards, while his lone miss was a 51-yarder that hooked wide left. The Packers hope their rookie kicker has a practice where he doesn't miss a kick, but it still felt like a step in the right direction. Smack is now 14-for-20 so far in training camp and the lone kicker on the roster, for now.DT Anthony CampbellThe Packers appear to have a brick wall playing defensive tackle. Campbell batted down his fifth pass of training camp on Friday while chasing down quarterback Kyle McCord. Before that, he registered a quick pressure during a team period that should have resulted in an interception. The second-year undrafted free agent has become one of the biggest surprises of training camp. On Thursday, he had what would have been a sack against Tyrod Taylor.
