New Washington Commanders wide receiver Stefon Diggs practiced for the first time with his new team on Friday. When Diggs took the field, he was wearing No. 18. Diggs has worn three different numbers in his 11 NFL seasons. For nine of those 11 seasons, Diggs wore No. 14. He also wore No. 1 and No. 8 for one season each. So, who wears No. 14 for the Commanders? That would be rookie wide receiver Antonio Williams. And he has already caught Diggs' eye. Diggs met with the media after Friday's practice and was asked about Washington's current receivers. Safe to say, he has his eye on Williams. "14 can hoop a little bit, you know?" Diggs said. "Young guys don't get a name in the beginning, just call them by the number. But he can hoop a little bit. That couldn't be further from the truth. Williams has had a solid camp. He's flashed multiple times throughout the first week of training camp. But the Commanders needed another veteran who could help them immediately. Diggs was a perfect addition. Now, Williams and some of Washington's other younger receivers, such as Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane, have two outstanding veteran mentors in McLaurin and Diggs.
