The announcement, such as it is, came courtesy of the NFLs transaction wire when the Washington Commanders placed Davidson on the reserve/retired list. The Giants originally drafted Davidson out of Arizona State in the fifth round (147th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He only played five games for the Giants as a rookie, suffering a torn ACL in the Giants win over the Green Bay Packers that year. The 6-foot-5, 320 pound Davidson was primarily a rotational nose tackle and special teams player for the Giants, appearing in 47 games with 4 starts in his four years as a Giant. The highlight of his career came in the Giants game against the Seattle Seahawks in 2024, when he sacked Seahawks QB Geno Smith twice in the Giants 29-20 win. Davidson signed a 1-year, $1.32 million contract with the Commanders back on April 1st, though only $20,000 of which was guaranteed. He finishes his career with 46 total tackles, 4.0 for a loss, and 2.5 sacks.
