The Lynxs win boosted their record to 26-7, giving them a three-game margin over the Aces for the WNBAs top spot. The Golden State Valkyries could overtake Las Vegas for second place with a win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday. With 11 games remaining on the Lynxs regular-season schedule and 12 games left for the Aces, the reigning WNBA champions still have an opportunity to catch Minnesota for the leagues No. 1 seed going into the playoffs. But Saturdays win not only created some separation but perhaps established the Lynxs status as the WNBAs best team right now. The WNBA schedule maker did the Aces no favors, giving them a brutal three-game stretch this week that began with Thursdays 86-84 overtime win over the Indiana Fever. Following Saturdays defeat, Las Vegas plays the second end of back-to-back games with a matinee matchup on Sunday versus the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.
