The first man selected was Caleb Douglas out of Texas Tech a 63, 206 lb pass catcher who some thought was taken a bit early by Miamis new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan. However, through nine training camp practices, Douglas has turned heads with his production thus far, and many are starting to think he could be a major contributor for the Dolphins offense during his rookie year. On Monday morning, Sullivan joined 104.3 WQAM radio to speak with the programs host, Joe Rose, about various topics including the excitement surrounding Miamis rookie receiver. Caleb has a lot of natural gifts. Thats what attracted us to him during the draft process Hes tall. Hes long. He can run. The thing that he can do from a tall, long athlete is he can bend. He can get in and out of breaks. Hes got extremely quick feet Hes honing his craft. Hes getting better every day. Hes learning that this is the National Football League, not the Big 12 Some of the hard lessons hes learned early on, hes starting to reap the benefits of that. Thats what youre seeing.If the Dolphins are to have success in 2026, new names will need to step up especially in the revamped wide receiver room. If Sullivan found a diamond in the rough in Caleb Douglas, the organization will be able to retool much quicker than most expect.
