Bucks rookie Brayden Burries to wear new jersey number in the NBA
After wearing the same jersey number in high school and college, rookie Brayden Burries will have a new number as he begins his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks.Burries sported No. 5 at Riverside Polytechnic High School and Eleanor Roosevelt High School in California. He kept that number for last season as a freshman at Arizona, helping the Wildcats to the Final Four for the first time since 2001.With No. 5 currently occupied by Gary Trent Jr., Burries will wear No. 0 with the Bucks. He registered 14 20-point performances, including a season-high 31 points and seven rebounds in a win over Colorado on March 7.The 6-foot-4 Burries debuted with the Bucks in summer league, averaging 23.5 points, four rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals in five games. He was named to theNBA All-Summer League first teamafter registering three 20-point performances.Burries enters next season as a foundational piece for the Bucks after the departure of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
