NBA announces Sixers debut for LeBron James, Christmas Day matchup
The Philadelphia 76ers have had a busy offseason as they have done everything they can to position themselves for a chance at contending for a championship. President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey and his staff were able to bring in LeBron James and Jaylen Brown as they look to end a long title drought.With the NBA calendar now in August, it was time for the league to reveal the schedule. The Sixers will have James and Brown make their debuts on Oct. 20 against the defending champion New York Knicks on the road. Philadelphia will have the chance to see where it stacks up against New York after being swept in Round 2 of the playoffs in May.The Sixers will then have their home opener on Oct. 22 against the Cleveland Cavaliers and then head West to take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day. That will mark the return of James to LA after eight seasons with the Lakers.Opening night in New York.
