Warriors to open 2026-27 season against Luka Doncic, Lakers
Mark your calendars: the Golden State Warriors' 2026-27 regular-season opener officially has a day, time and opponent. The Warriors will tip off the new campaign against the new-look Los Angeles Lakers in the post-LeBron James era on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. PT at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles. The game will be televised on ESPN. The Warriors will get their first look at the Doncic-headed Lakers without James. Doncic will lead the Lakers group alongside Austin Reaves and newly acquired big man Walker Kessler. STEPH. LUKA. MUST-SEE TV. Opening day of the NBA season will feature three games, starting with the Boston Celtics at the Detroit Pistons, followed by LeBron James' Sixers against the defending champion New York Knicks, capped off by a Western Conference FInals rematch between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs. Over their last 10 season-openers, the Warriors have posted a 6-4 record dating back to 2016. Along with opening night, the Warriors' opponent for their 14th straight appearance on Christmas Day has been revealed. The Warriors will host Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets for the late-night game on Christmas Day at Chase Center in San Francisco.
