But theres another deal also in the works and it sounds like things might be moving. Well, theres a decent chance that the first domino in a chain that has been holding up a ton of football transfers might have just fallen. Reports in the Netherlands say that a verbal agreement has been reached between Ajax and PSG for the sale of Mika Godts to the French champions. That will likely mean that Bradley Barcola, who has been heavily linked with Liverpool, might then be sold, which would likely mean Liverpool are more amenable to letting Gakpo leave, etc. etc. etc. Its not at all common for chains of transfer to suddenly pop off the moment one club makes a significant move.Now, is spending (reportedly) 70m for a 28-year-old (hes 27 until hes 28, thats how this works) attacking midfielder with little to no resale value a good idea? I certainly have my opinion, but also as Ive been saying all summer now, money isnt real. Gakpo certainly appears to be high on our de facto Director of Football Roberto De Zerbis wish list, and it sounds like hed be coming to Spurs in addition to Savinho. Get ready for a potentially busy few days, if this is all accurate.
