Hawaii Kais 11u team won two games in Crown Point, Ind., on Saturday to capture the Cal Ripken 11YO World Series.Tayvien Paaga-Ale drove in three runs across the two victories and was the winning pitcher in the final, a 4-0 win over Peachtree, Va. Hawaii Kai reached the final with a 9-2 win over South Lexington, Ky.Ruxin Zukeran was the winning pitcher in the semifinal triumph. Tyce Yamada scored two runs and drive in two more across the two games.Peachtree, which Hawaii Kai also defeated during pool play, had reached the final with a 10-1 rout of Visalia, Calif.Hawaii Kai swept through the tournament at 7-0, outscoring opponents 41-5.Wahine soccer winless with loss to K-StateDespite striking first, the University of Hawaii womens soccer team fell 3-1 to Kansas State on Saturday afternoon at the UH Lower Campus Field in a game moved up a day due to the tropical storm threat.The loss dropped the Rainbow Wahine to 0-2-0 both overall and in its Outrigger Soccer Kickoff.Anuhea Aluli opened the scoring for UH less than four minutes into the match off a pass from Jas Cayetano, Alulis first goal as a Rainbow Wahine.
