To say Tennessee football fans are eager for the 2026 season to start is an understatement.The No. 18 Vols open the season against Furman (1-0) at Neyland Stadium on Sept. 5 (3:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network+), but fans on social media are chomping at the bit for kickoff against the Paladins. When Furman posted a countdown to game day graphic, a very common post for teams ahead of matchups, Tennessee fans flooded the comments."See you soon, Knoxville," the post on X said with a purple devil emoji, and the graphic had a photo of Furman safety AK Burrell holding his finger over his lips to shush a hypothetical crowd. The post also included Furman's signature hashtag "#FUAllTheTime" as a play on Furman University's abbreviation being FU. Tennessee is a 48.5-point favorite in the matchup.
