Steelers' potential free agent QB target gets insane price tag update
The waters of the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback position are murky a week out from the new league year, and one free agent previously thought to be a great fit just got an insane contract update.NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport recently projected soon-to-be free agent Malik Willis to pursue a contract with a ludicrous average annual value of $3035 million, which, if accurate, could put him outside the Steelers' price range in 2026.ESPN's Jeremy Fowler attempted to dispute the massive contract amount, instead predicting Willis could get a deal worth around $2025 million a year. Both contract projections are likely too steep for what the Steelers are looking for this offseason, especially with the possibility of Aaron Rodgers returning for another season in 2026.Free agency isn't the only way the Steelers could address the position, however, as their interest in quarterbacks at the NFL Scouting Combine gave fans a glimpse of prospects to watch in this April's draft. For up-to-dateSteelerscoverage, including any offseason moves, follow us on X@TheSteelersWireand give ourFacebook pagea like. This article originally appeared on Steelers Wire: Steelers' potential free agency target Malik Willis gets big price tag
