ESPN NFL mock draft 2026 has Cardinals trading up for a QB
Now that we're past the 2026 NFL combine, the NFL mock drafts have truly started pouring in. And the latest from ESPN has some intrigue in it.As we all wonder if Alabama QB Ty Simpson is a first-round pick, there's some thinking that he could be. In our latest NFL mock draft from Christian D'Andrea, he's not a first-rounder. But in the new ESPN mock draft from Jordan Reid, he has Simpson to... the Arizona Cardinals, who appear to be moving on from Kyler Murray. What's more? He has the franchise trading up to pick No. 28 to get the QB.Here's his take:WithKyler Murray's time in Arizonaseemingly numbered, the Cardinals have a lot of quarterback questions. So I have them trading back into the bottom of the first round to acquire their QB of the future. Simpson is a perfect fit in new coach Mike LaFleur's offense. Simpson operates well off play-action but makes his best throws in the short and intermediate areas. His lack of starting experience (15 starts) makes him a bit of a risk here, but Arizona still has veteranJacoby Brissettfor another year to serve as a bridge until Simpson is ready to be the QB1.Fascinating!
