Arizona softball moves up in 3 polls, holds steady in the other

This time around, three of the four have pushed the team higher in the rankings while the other stood pat.The official poll on this website is the NFCA poll. That poll has the Wildcats higher than the other three. The team moved up from No. 14 last week to No. 13 after a 5-0 weekend at the Hillenbrand Invitational.The other large coaches poll is put out by USA Softball. That group left Arizona at No. 14 just like last week. The Wildcats are also at No. 14 in the D1 Softball poll, but thats an improvement of two spots from those voters.UAs lowest ranking comes from Softball America. It has the Wildcats at No. 18, one spot above where they were last week.Arizona is the second-highest ranked Big 12 team in the NFCA poll behind No. 2 Texas Tech. The other three polls have the Wildcats as the No. 3 team in the conference behind both the Red Raiders and Oklahoma State. TTU is ranked second in every poll except D1 Softball. Those rankings have Tech at No. 3 in the country.The Cowgirls come in at No. 19 in NFCA, tied for 12th in USA Softball, outright No. 12 in D1 Softball, and No. 13 in Softball America.Arizona State is ranked No. 22 in NFCA, ranked No. 21 in USA Softball and D1 Softball, and unranked by Softball America.UCF is the fifth Big 12 team to get votes in the rankings. The Knights are No. 24 according to the NFCA, the top receiving votes team according to USA Softball, No. 25 in the D1 Softball rankings, and No. 23 on the Softball America list.Big 12 play starts this week. Arizona will be in the first game of the conference season when it faces off against BYU on Thursday, Mar. 5.
