Kam Williams returns to practice for Kentucky Basketball
While the concerns are real amongst Big Blue Nation that the Kentucky Wildcats could play on Wednesday of the SEC Tournament, there is some positive news on the final week of the regular season.Kam Williams, who has been sidelined with a broken foot since January 21st against Texas, is returning to practice on Thursday, according to head coach Mark Pope. Were gonna see if we can slip him into a little bit of practice today, Pope told reporters on Tuesday. I dont know if hell get any contact today, but were pushing it with him. Hes also been working incredibly hard. Hes made good progress, so well see. The question is, once he gets into any type of full-speed stuff, how does it respond? Thats going to be the question well be asking over the next days and days. This would be a huge addition for the Wildcats. Williams would give them another shooter to play alongside Collin Chandler and would also help the Cats 3-point shooting defense. Hes a long defender on the wing. Thats who the Cats need right now.Is Williams going to play against Florida on Saturday? That may be a stretch, but at least it now appears theres a very good chance of Williams playing in the postseason. If Kentucky can beat Florida on Saturday, that will push them to at least Thursday in the SEC Tournament through a single bye. That one extra day could be crucial for Williams and a potential return.
