Unbeaten Longhorns Baseball rise in new USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll
Texas Baseball is 15-0 and moving up. The Longhorns have started the 2026 season undefeated with some big wins over Michigan State, Ohio State and Coastal Carolina. Thanks to a rough weekend in Baton Rouge for LSU, UT has moved up to No. 2 in this weekends USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. UCLA remains No. 1 despite two losses on the year. The Bruins are led by former Longhorns outfielder Will Gasparino. Gasparino transferred from Austin to Westwood in the offseason and already has double digit homers this season. But Texas keeps rolling behind strong starting pitching and hot bats. The week, the Horns manhandled Houston Christian on Tuesday 16-3, before sweeping USC Upstate over the weekend. Texas is one of two undefeated Power Conference teams along with USC. There are 12 SEC teams in the Top 25, almost 50%. The ACC is also well represented with seven teams on the list.
