Virginia Tech softball: Hokies blow out Elon for 15th straight win
How is the Virginia Tech Hokies softball team not in the top 10? Thats a great question, and on Wednesday, the Lady Hokies were back in action, this time blowing away the Elon Phoenix with a 14-2 run-rule victory. It was Virginia Techs 15th straight victory and the 11th-ranked Hokies are now 22-2 on the season. As weve seen often, the Hokies jumped on the opposing team, scoring two runs in the first inning as Zoe Yaeger and Addison Fisher each drove in runs to take a 2-0 lead. Virginia Tech blew it open in the top of the fourth inning, as Yaeger, Kylie Aldridge, Michelle Chatfield and Gaby Mizelle all drove in runs. It was 6-0. Rachel Castine would hit her seventh home run on the season, and she tied Yaeger for the team lead with four RBI. The Hokies finished with 10 hits, and Elon had just three.
