Network Q Rally – 23–26 November 2000
The Peugeot team was cautiously optimistic ahead of the 2000 season. They now had half a season's experience with their 206 WRC model.
‘We know we have a competitive car. But we are all too aware of the instability of this sport not to have taken up this challenge with humility,’ said Peugeot Sport boss Corrado Provera before the start of the season in Monte Carlo.
However, the season opener turned out to be a cold shower for the French team, as all three of their cars retired, but then Marcus Grönholm gave the team their first World Championship victory in almost 14 years in the Swedish rally, and he followed that up with victories in New Zealand, Finland and Australia.
However, it wasn't until the season finale at the British Network Q Rally that Marcus Grönholm could call himself world champion.
Marcus himself said he drove cautiously in the season finale: ‘It's too slippery to take risks.’
This is also evident from my photos – or is it?

Network Q Rally – 23.-26. november 2000
Peugeot teamet var forsigtigt optimistiske forud for 2000 sæsonen.
