  • Ariarne Titmus enjoys date with boyfriend Mack Powell after retirement from swimming

Retired Australian swimming icon Ariarne Titmus is embracing life beyond the pool, recently sharing glimpses of a cozy date with boyfriend Mac Powell. The four-time Olympic gold medalist, who shocked fans by announcing her retirement in October 2025 at age 25, has prioritized personal happiness, including her relationship with the Melbourne-based investment analyst. The couple, who went public earlier this year and even moved in together in Melbourne, appeared relaxed and happy in recent photos. Titmus cited shifting priorities—family, love, and health—after a cancer scare and Paris Olympics success as reasons for stepping away from competition. Fans adore her post-retirement glow, with many commenting on her newfound balance. As the 200m freestyle world record holder hangs up her goggles, Titmus is thriving in this new chapter focused on love and normalcy. #AriarneTitmus #MackPowell

  • Caught Sofya Samodelkina after winning silver at the Grand Prix in Japan.

Right now I am in Kazakhstan, I need to resolve some document issues and deal with my knee after the injury. The plan includes an MRI, various examinations, and rehabilitation.

I actually got injured not on difficult jumps, which is very frustrating: it was a regular practice, I had already finished all my jumps, cleanly landed a triple Axel, performed two clean runs of my programs—and on the simplest exercise, a spread eagle, I suddenly twisted my knee. It cracked loudly.

Almost a month was spent on recovery, but before the tournament in Japan, we even managed to work intensively together with She-Lynn [Bourne] on the short program.

I am incredibly grateful to Rafael Vladimirovich [Arutyunyan] for coming with me to Japan. When he stands by the boards, it gives me a completely different level of confidence. He gave me a second chance in sports, reached out his hand, and showed me who I can become. I deeply appreciate this opportunity.

Of course, I am happy that everything went so well at the NHK Trophy: yes, the performance wasn’t perfect, but I showed the maximum of what I was capable of after the injury. I didn’t expect to get silver; after the scores, I immediately called my parents and psychologist—and cried with happiness.

I really want to get back to training with Rafael Vladimirovich as soon as possible; we have so much to do.
If I get an invitation to the stage in Finland, we will urgently change plans, of course. But I have already gotten used to being ready for anything. I don’t even get jet lag anymore; night—sleep, day—train, no matter which country I am in. We also have a December tournament in Zagreb planned, so even if the Grand Prix stage doesn’t work out, I have plenty to work on.

Sofya has excellent chances for the second stage in Finland. The field there is strong, and to win a medal (and thus have a chance at the Grand Prix Final), she will need to give her best.

But Samodelkina knows how to do that.
