What is loss of housekeeping capacity in a personal injury claim? After an accident, compensation is not only about medical bills or lost wages. If your injury affects your ability to cook, clean, do laundry, carry groceries, care for children, or maintain your home, you may be able to claim compensation for loss of housekeeping capacity.
In Alberta personal injury law, housekeeping work has real value, even if it is unpaid. Courts may consider how your injury affects your independence, daily routine, dignity, and ability to manage household responsibilities. This can be especially important for parents, caregivers, seniors, and people living alone.
In this video, we explain what loss of housekeeping capacity means, how it may be calculated, and why medical records, occupational therapy reports, and expert evidence can strengthen your injury claim.

WWW.FOXSPORTS.COMSwitzerland Coach 'Optimistic' Amid 0-1 World Cup Start, Dressing Room TensionSwitzerland is already behind schedule just one game into theWorld Cup. Coach Murat Yakin says his team still has plenty of time to get where it wants to go. The Swiss realize they're under pressure when they take on overachieving Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday at Los Angeles Stadium in both teams' second match of group-stage play. No. 19 Switzerland is widely favored to advance as the highest-ranked and most accomplished team in its group, but Die Nati shockingly blew its opening match in Northern California last weekend. Qatar salvaged a 1-1 draw by scoring in the fourth minute of second-half extra time. That means Switzerland must get strong results from its next two matches to avoid an embarrassing finish for a team that still believes it has a chance to win its first knockout-stage World Cup match since 1938. "I am optimistic," Yakin said Wednesday night through an interpreter. "I trust my players. We have a seasoned team, and they know how to handle stress very well. ... Of course we expected a different start. We have to stay focused, but the way we played was certainly positive. We cant buy anything with that yet, though." Some of that stress might be in the dressing room: Swiss media outlets reported this week that some players are unhappy with veteran captain Granit Xhaka, who sharply criticized his team himself included in private and in public after the opening match. Xhaka's high-strung approach to his sport is well known from his club career in England and Germany. Swiss midfielder Remo Freuler didn't confirm the reports of dressing room strife, but said intensity shouldn't be a topic of contention at a World Cup. "Yes, Granit is someone who expresses himself very freely, and he might be expressing critiques, but it is also very important," Freuler said. "He is very open and he talks freely about those things. If you are too sensitive, then maybe football is not for you, because we have to examine these things and we have to be critical." Switzerlands only goal against Qatar was from the penalty spot despite having 68% of the possession, putting seven shots on goal and generating chances equaling 3.20 expected goals. The Swiss realize they allowed Qatar to hang around for far too long, and it cost them dearly. "We saw its very important to stay focused until the end of the match," Yakin said. "The way we played was good if you look at the statistics, but it doesnt buy you anything because we lost two points." A strong result against Bosnia is almost certainly necessary to keep alive Switzerland's dreams of World Cup success, since the Swiss' next match is against Canada in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Bosnian team also expects a healthy fan turnout in Los Angeles. Die Nati has lost seven straight knockout matches at the World Cup, and even getting to the knockout rounds in North America is no sure thing yet. Bosnia opened the tournament last weekend by holding co-host Canada to a draw, putting on yet another strong performance after its charmed run to just the second World Cup berth in its history. The Dragons upset Wales and Italy in March to clinch their unlikely qualification. "We have tremendous respect for Switzerland, but weve shown in the past that we can come out on top against strong opponents," Dragons coach Sergej Barbarez said. "I hope we will confirm our form at the moment." Reporting by The Associated Press.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 12 Views 0 Anteprima -

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMAge doesn't matter at this World Cup (except when trying to get to your hotel)Try as they might, Spain just couldn't find a way past Vozinha [Getty Images]This is my full column from the BBC Football Extra newsletter. If you're outside the UK and would like to sign up, head this way.I covered the Cape Verde v Spain game when a chap of a certain vintage became the talk of the town. The World Cup often throws up these heartwarming stories and the brilliant, unbeatable 40-year-old Vozinha stole the hearts of everyone watching. The fact that he certainly doesn't look young for his age, is that a polite way of putting it, made it even more poignant as did his tears of joy at the end.My trip down from Boston to New York hadn't been an easy one the previous day.The train journey itself was incredible, New England is a stunningly beautiful part of this planet. However, getting from Penn Station to the hotel in New Jersey was torture with a hefty suitcase. Here is a hint for travellers taxi drivers will not take you to the other side of the Hudson unless you give them at least one arm and possibly a leg as a tip too.A broken down tube train and nearly two hours later, walking the final mile in sweltering heat, I was feeling my age just a little bit. I also felt the vast difference between those in TV who are whisked around in air-conditioned limos and those of us hacking it as radio and writing folk. But the performances of those older players gave me my zest back as did the fans sharing the journey with unshakeable positivity. It's not how old you are but how old you allow yourself to feel. And travelling football fans at World Cups make me feel like a teenager again. But be wary of pacy youngstersFrance showed us exuberance too this week eventually. After a slow start, there was so much to admire about the French side in New York on Tuesday. The first half was dire to be fair, the pitch looked plastic, the players looked sluggish and I wondered whether or not Kylian Mbappe and co would be going down the same route as Spain. Then they woke up and sparkled making a decent Senegal side look like a bunch of old men.The genius of Michael Olise, when the shackles were removed and he was set free from the wing, changed the match completely. Suddenly, the rest of his team-mates seemed to get the memo, this is the World Cup!The pace from Bradley Barcola looked beyond human when he came on, but then Mbappe was on another level altogether because he can actually control the ball moving at those insane speeds. This is now infamously a World Cup liberally sprinkled with players over the age of 40, but as the tournament inexorably grinds on, I thought that maybe youthful genius will win in the end against the living legends on show.Well I thought that until 37-year-old Lionel Messi sauntered into the competition a few hours later and rolled back the years with an incredible performance. Then again he isn't really like other humans, so the rules don't apply to him.New York buying into World Cup excitementThe Met Life stadium was a spectacular sight pre-match in the France v Senegal fixture [Getty Images]Apart from the brilliance of the French, the much maligned MetLife Stadium was also an uplifting experience. Maybe not the best pitch or the most appealing external architecture I grant you, but the atmosphere in that bowl seating nearly 80,000 fans, sitting in near cliff face stands, is exceptional. I am slightly biased as Giants fan who has been on pilgrimage to see them play there. The real kicker was that when a number of the all-conquering Knicks players were shown the big screens watching on, the roar was incredible. Yes there were a lot of French fans and a good smattering of Senegalese, but the good people of New York had turned out in large numbers showing that they are beginning to buy in to the excitement of the World Cup.A delicate question...Back on the subject of the silver-haired fraternity, it was noticeable that many of the helpers at the games are septuagenarians or older. My first thought was you don't see that too often back in the UK, but then I thought, how nice they are giving jobs to these people to make sure they still feel valued in society. Then I mused, I wonder if they are just volunteers who aren't actually being paid but want to give something back to society, their city or even their club that is hosting the match.I mentioned this to a fellow media worker and he suggested another option. Maybe they have to do this manual work into old age because the public welfare and pensions systems in the US aren't as generous as most of Europe. Normally, I would ask the workers to find out, but if I am honest it is a trifle delicate to bring up with a stranger, even if he is saying 'how can I help you and have a nice day.' I will find a subtle way of asking and get back to you. I do hope it is not the case that this is no country for old men.Can Scots bridge sizeable gap?[Getty Images]I can't put it off any longer, I have to look forward to Scotland's crucial tie against Morocco. First of all the Afcon champions, well maybe champions the courts will decide are a better side than Scotland. Actually much better according to the Fifa rankings, 43rd v eighth is one mighty gap.The thing is, Scotland 'only' need a draw from either this or the following game against Brazil. Stevie Clarke has a few positive things to consider. His charges will play better than they did against Haiti, that was one of their least impressive team performances under his management even if they defended well and got the result. There are also a bunch of options open to him, specifically systems that have served the side well when they needed to shut up shop. These players have learned how to do this pretty well. There have been numerous examples of them being dominated by higher ranking opponents only to break away and skewer them. Norway in Oslo was one example, with two late counter punch goals after Erling Haaland had gone off thinking he had won his country the game. There was also the now historic qualifying match against Denmark that qualified Scotland for this World Cup. Three all-time great goals will be forever remembered, the fact that Denmark were the better side for the majority of the game can be lost in the mists of time.Remember Spain are second in the rankings and Cape Verde are more than 60 places below them. It is not impossible for Scotland to get a draw too, it's just pretty unlikely.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 22 Views 0 Anteprima
