The winners of the Alumni Bracket and Vegas Bracket meet in the championship for the winner-take-all prize. TBT still uses the Elam Ending, in which the game clock shuts off in the fourth quarter and a target score is set by adding eight points to the leading team's score. Whichever team reaches that score first wins. What Is the Purse? TBT's purse is a winner-take-all $2 million prize, the largest since 2019. Who Won The Basketball Tournament Last Year? AfterShocks (Wichita State alumni) beat Eberlein Drive in the 2025 championship to win the title.

Reports: Chelsea in shock talks to sign Danny Welbeck - A good move for Xabi Alonso?
Chelsea are reportedly in shock talks to sign veteran forward Danny Welbeck from Brighton and Hove Albion.Welbeck, 35, scored 13 goals in the Premier League last season in his best-ever return in the English top-flight and the English forward is aging like a fine wine as many pushed for him to be called up to England's World Cup squad. Welbeck's form led Brighton to an eighth-place finish last season as they qualified for the UEFA Conference League. But according to multiple reports, from the Daily Mail and The Athletic, Chelsea are in talks to sign Welbeck. How would Welbeck fit in at Chelsea under Xabi Alonso?New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has been keen to add experience and leadership wherever he has been manager so far (see: Xhaka, Granit, at Bayer Leverkusen), and Welbeck would provide that in abundance with this youthful Chelsea side. It's all about setting the standards and Welbeck is known to be a great team player and leader. Joao Pedro is Chelsea's undisputed No. 9 and starter, but Welbeck would be a fine back-up option. Welbeck's arrival would cast doubt on the futures of both Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea. Delap struggled in his first season at Chelsea, while Jackson spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich and it seems like he has no future at Stamford Bridge. Given that Chelsea will provide plenty of chances for Welbeck to finish, and he would be happy enough with coming off the bench and playing 20-30 minutes per game as a closer, this seems like a deal which works for everyone.

Chelsea place big price on Liverpool and Manchester City target
Chelsea place big price on Liverpool and Manchester City targetPedro Neto Transfer Latest: Chelsea Set Strong Stance Amid Liverpool and Manchester City InterestChelsea are relaxed about the growing noise around Pedro Neto, but there is a firm message behind the scenes, any deal would need to reflect a market that has become increasingly inflated for elite wide players. According to Mail, the Blues are aware of attention from Liverpool, Manchester City and clubs in Saudi Arabia, yet they are not actively touting the Portugal international for sale. That distinction matters. Chelsea do not appear to be pushing Neto towards the exit, though they are also fully conscious that top-class wingers are scarce and expensive. The report states Chelsea are not surprised by the interest, and that view is understandable given the current market conditions and Netos profile.Photo IMAGOChelsea weigh Pedro Neto value in heated winger marketOne of the more revealing elements in the report is Chelseas awareness of what other clubs are demanding. RB Leipzigs Yan Diomande and Paris Saint-Germains Bradley Barcola are said to be viewed as 100million-plus players by their clubs. Neto may not command that level, but those figures help set the tone for any negotiation. The article adds that Chelsea would not allow their winger to leave on the cheap, which feels like the key line in all of this. The club have not yet placed a public valuation on Neto, but they clearly believe the wider market strengthens their hand.Enzo Maresca connection adds intrigue for Manchester CityThere is also a notable coaching link. Manchester City are now managed by Enzo Maresca, who favoured Neto as his right winger while in charge at Stamford Bridge. That existing appreciation naturally sharpens Citys place in the conversation, especially if Maresca wants a player he already knows and trusts.Photo IMAGOLiverpools interest is also mentioned, which adds another layer given the premium attached to high-end attackers this summer. Chelsea sources reportedly feel it is only natural that Neto has attracted interest because of a lack of top wingers in the current market.Squad context around Chelsea tour and injury updatesNeto is currently absent from Chelseas tour in Australia as he continues his break after Portugal duty at the World Cup. Geovany Quenda is expected to join later after picking up a small injury, while new striker Emmanuel Emegha is recovering from a hamstring issue suffered after scoring in the behind-closed-doors wins over Bromley and Crawley. For now, Chelseas position appears measured and deliberate. Interest is real, pressure may build, but any move for Pedro Neto is likely to start from a significant figure rather than a bargain opportunity. Our Viewthis report is a little surprising, mainly because Neto still feels like a player the club should be building with rather than cashing in on. If Chelsea are not surprised by the interest, that says plenty about how highly he is regarded internally, and that should be a reminder to keep hold of him unless the offer is enormous. The mention of 100million-plus players elsewhere in the market is what really jumps out. No one is saying Neto is in exactly that bracket, but if Chelsea are reading the market properly then there is no reason to entertain low or even middling bids. Would not allow their winger to leave on the cheap is the right stance. From a fan perspective, the Manchester City angle is the one that creates most concern. Maresca knows him, likes him, and clearly saw him as a fit before. That makes the link feel more credible than routine transfer chatter. Liverpool being there as well only raises the temperature.Still, the strongest reaction from Chelsea fans should be simple, why sell a proven international winger when the market is short of exactly that profile? If he stays, Chelsea keep quality and depth. If he goes, the fee has to be huge, because replacing top-end width in this market looks painfully difficult. For once, the club seem to be reading the room correctly.Source: Mail

Boxer Jake Paul wants to play in the NFL and for the Browns
Jake Paul is on the field at halftime in the game between the New Orleans Saints and the Cleveland Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium on December 24, 2022 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo by Nick Cammett/Getty Images) | Getty ImagesAs a child, you play various sports, and invariably, you pretend to be your favorite player, kicking the winning field goal, making the last-second touchdown grab, hitting the home run with a 3-2 count in the bottom of the ninth, or squeezing the puck on a nutmeg against the goalkeeper. Then you get to high school and realize that every kid on the team is very talented. Instead of hitting dingers to end the game, you are trying to get by the ball to gain first base. RELATED: BROWNS HAVE THE 4 MOST IMPORTANT TYPES OF RECEIVERSBoxer Jake Paul has recently come out and made noise about playing pro football. To be more specific, playing professional football for the Cleveland Browns. This doesnt seem to be Pauls attempt at his 15-minutes of fame. Being well-known and well-paid is his current job. And he is pretty good at it. Paul has an estimated net worth between $80 million and $200 million, depending on whos counting.Paul has stated that several NFL teams are interested in him as a receiver, which is fitting since he played that position and linebacker while at Westlake High School in Westlake, Ohio, just west of Cleveland. He grew up a Browns fan and would like to play for his childhood team. This same scenario happened to former Browns QB Bernie Kosar and WR Paul Warfield. The Browns were their fav team, and they hoped to be drafted by them. And were. It seems that Paul has made it known that he has better hands than most NFL receivers and would make the roster without an issue. For now, teams are already in training camp, so his timing for a workout seems a bit on the later side.Jake Paul tells FOS that he has talked to "a couple [NFL] teams and coaches" who are interested in bringing him on to their roster."There is a lot of super mediocrity in the NFL. A lot of not-good athletes." pic.twitter.com/eTJQhybAP6 Front Office Sports (@FOS) July 22, 2026And dont say that he wouldnt be able to take the violence of the NFL game. He had his first boxing match back in 2018. He has headlined a bout against MMA champion Ben Askren and won via a knockout. In his 14 fights, he is 12-2 with seven knockouts. He also defeated Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley. In 2021, Sports Illustrated named him Breakout Boxer of the Year.Paul has been very successful in the business world as well as in music.Currently, Cleveland has 12 receivers on their training camp roster. They selected KC Concepcion in Round 1 and Denzel Boston in the second round of Aprils NFL draft. They also signed Tylan Wallace away from the Baltimore Ravens in free agency. Its easy making the last-second touchdown catch in your backyard with a bunch of neighborhood kids. Paul hasnt played football since high school. And his boxing career, while with a very good win-loss record, is against retired fighters. NFL players compete each week as their livelihood on the football field. They have their careers invested in this league and arent looking for a single payday like a boxer would get paid. This is their career, and many will become well-known for being a pro football player while others become high school coaches or real estate agents. A team like Cleveland is always looking for talent. He could get that call. But it will be as a workout player. If he passes that stage, it becomes a physical and then a training camp contract. With the hope that the real football players wont find a way to humble a Browns fan turned into a roster hopeful.(Editors Note: All of this feels like a PR stunt and is highly disrespectful to the amount of effort, time, and attention it takes to be a professional athlete of a particular sport. There are very few athletes who are good enough to be professionals at more than one thing (Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, to name a couple). The Paul family has become elite marketers; this feels like just another example of that.)

Rangers predicted to swing trade for $22 million 1.93 ERA Mets reliever
Rangers predicted to swing trade for $22 million 1.93 ERA Mets reliever originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. The Texas Rangers are fighting with the Seattle Mariners for the top spot in the AL West. They have a 1.5 game lead one week from the trade deadline, and could further extend that gap with a strong close to July and start to August. But to truly separate themselves from the Mariners, the Rangers might have to get some help at the MLB trade deadline. If there's one thing this team needs, it's more bullpen help, specifically at the back-end of the bullpen. That's why Dennis Lin of The Athletic is predicting that the Rangers will swing a trade with the New York Mets this summer, landing $22 million, 1.93 ERA reliever Luke Weaver to significantly upgrade the Texas bullpen for a postseason push.Rangers predicted to trade for Mets' Luke Weaver"Luke Weaver becomes a Ranger," Lin predicts. "He's not Aroldis Chapman, whom the Rangers acquired on their way to the 2023 World Series, but Weaver would represent a significant upgrade for a bullpen in need."Adding Weaver would be a huge move for the Rangers, and would give them the kind of player who'd provide a real upgrade for the team's shaky bullpen. While Jacob Latz has been great with a 1.69 ERA this season, and a few others haven't been terrible either, adding one more elite reliever who could close games if needed would be an ideal move for this team this summer.MORE:Mets desperate to trade Luis Robert Jr. after trade failureWeaver would be just that, as the 32-year-old Mets reliever has been awesome this season. He has a 1.93 ERA in 40 appearances with 1.8 bWAR, and 43 strikeouts in 42 innings pitched. His 217 ERA_ is the best mark of his career, and with a 2.92 FIP and 0.833 WHIP, Weaver's dominance this season isn't a fluke. One of the best parts about Weaver for the Rangers would be that he's under club control through 2027 on his two-year, $22 million contract. Weaver isn't a rental, but rather a 1.5-year high-leverage reliever. The Rangers would benefit greatly from adding Weaver, and that's what Lin is predicting Texas will do this summer by the August 3 trade deadline.More MLB news:Yankees are leading candidate to trade for Twins Ryan JeffersRed Sox would love to trade for Angels Zach Neto or Astros Jeremy PenaGiants willing to trade Heliot Ramos in big news for many MLB clubsPadres likely not to trade Mason Miller amid latest updateTigers expected to trade Tarik Skubal but still try to contend without him
