Vea is the kind of player who can help that cause on and off the field.The Giants traded star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence earlier this offseason but never actually replaced him, using the No. 10 pick from Cincinnati on an offensive tackle. Vea wouldn't be a Lawrence-level replacement, but he'd undoubtedly be a reliable starter on the defensive line next to Brian Burns, Abdul Carter and others.In 2025, New York had one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL. Harbaugh's presence and some steps forward from young players should help, but Vea could also be a terrific veteran fit to replace Lawrence.BearsIn the Bears' resurgent 2025 season, one of their few weaknesses was their interior defensive line. Chicago allowed 134.5 rushing yards per game, which ranked 27th in the NFL. Vea isn't going to fix it all, but he is the kind of player who could significantly help in that area.Despite the need for a weapon on the defensive line, the Bears also never addressed the position this offseason, bringing in safety Coby Bryant, linebacker Devin Bush and rookie safety Dillon Thieneman.Vea could be the long-awaited addition to the defensive line that helps the Bears' defense improve again in 2026.ChargersThe Chargers don't have a glaring need on their interior defensive line. But if they're going to finally make a deep playoff run in the Justin Herbert era, perhaps they fortify their defense with a Pro Bowl nose tackle who has a Super Bowl ring.Los Angeles would check Vea's reported preference of joining a California team, and he'd also make for a terrific interior defensive line alongside Teair Tart, Dalvin Tomlinson, and Jamaree Caldwell. Wherever Ohio State goes on the football field, it seems to generate a lot of buzz, especially if the Buckeyes haven't visited for awhile. That sure seems like more of the same when it comes to OSU's visit to Iowa City to play the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, Oct. 3.The game was announced as a sellout on social media by Iowa on Monday, with about two months to go (yes, we are that close). It makes sense in a lot of ways. The Hawkeyes are one of the Big Ten programs OSU just hasn't played all that often since the conference expanded and went to divisions, and that has continued now with the addition of the West Coast teams. In fact, the last time the two played was back in 2022, with Ohio State winning 54-10. The last occurrence of the Buckeyes traveling to Iowa City was back in 2017, something Hawkeye fans remember fondly with a 55-24 upset of OSU.In other words, that's just twice in nine years the two have met, so you can bet that Iowa fans are excited to see what should be another talented Ohio State team come to play in Kinnick Stadium.
