If you don't follow the WNBA very closely, you may not know that former Ohio State women's basketball and current Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell is having one whale of a season. You might also not know that she is the leading scorer on the Fever, and not former Iowa sharpshooter Caitlyn Clark. Mitchell is, in fact, currently the second-leading scorer in all of the WNBA behind A'Ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces.This past weekend, Mitchell took part as one of the starting five in the WNBA All-Star Game and again showed off her scoring prowess by leading all scorers with 28 points. She shot 11-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, also chipping in five steals, three of which were against her teammate Clark, who was matched against her on the opposite team.Unfortunately for Mitchell and her Team Coop lost to Team Spoon 129-122, but it wasn't because of the effort Mitchell turned in on just 22 minutes of play. Her time at Ohio State saw Mitchell become a first team All-American and is still the all-time leading scorer as a Buckeye. New England Patriots running back Lan Larison appears to be pushing for the No. 3 spot behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson.According to MassLive's Mark Daniels, Larison was seen taking "a lot of reps" on Monday with Patriots quarterback Drake Maye's unit. That bodes well for the positioning on the roster for the former UC Davis standout. Larison showed promise during training camp last year, before ultimately going down with a season-ending injury in the preseason. During his run at UC Davis, he racked up 6,504 all-purpose yards over the course of five seasons.He rushed for 1,465 yards and 17 touchdowns in addition to 62 catches for 847 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in his final year with the team.Lan Larison is getting a lot of reps today with Drake Mayes unit.
