Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was not fully cleared for football activities during the offseason program, but he's set to hit the field without restrictions at training camp. Olave missed Week 18 because of a blood clot in his lung and the team limited his work during the spring in order to continue monitoring the situation. On Tuesday, General Manager Mickey Loomis said that Olave has been given the green light to do everything during this summer's practices. That's also the case for wideout Jordyn Tyson. The first-round pick dealt with a hamstring injury this offseason, but will join Olave on the field on Wednesday. Defensive lineman Keeshawn Silver and wide receiver Mason Tipton will open camp on the physically unable to perform list. Defensive lineman Zxavian Harris and tight end Cody Hardy are on the non-football injury list.

New York Yankees shortstop Anthony VolpeThe New York Yankees offense is struggling right now, and Cody Bellinger's injury only makes things worse.The Yankees are currently without Aaron Judge, Bellinger and Giancarlo Stanton. On top of that, they seem to have no actual solution for third base and shortstop, where Anthony Volpe and Ryan McMahon continue to struggle. Knowing Judge, Bellinger and Stanton could return soon, the Yankees are unlikely to add a superstar outfielder or designated hitter. However, adding an infielder could do wonders for the offense if that infielder were Luis Arraez.Luckily for the Yankees, the San Francisco Giants will be sellers at the deadline, and Arraez is a rental they could look to deal away. He is hitting .326 with an .811 OPS on the year. He has improved his slugging while maintaining a high average. Not to mention, he is having an elite year defensively at second base. Defense was always seen as a downside for Arraez, but that is not the case this year.How would Arraez fit in on the Yankees? Well, for starters, he would slot in at second base. That would allow the Yankees to move Chisholm to third base or shortstop, getting rid of either Volpe or McMahon as a regular. He has struck out multiple times in the same game just once all season. He would insert a reliable bat into the middle of a lineup that is suddenly trying to produce runs without three of its biggest power threats.Arraez is not going to fix all of the Yankees' problems. However, adding him and then calling up George Lombard Jr. at some point might. If Lombard is called up and the Yankees get Arraez, they would suddenly have an infield with Ben Rice, Arraez, Chisholm and Lombard. When they get Bellinger, Stanton and Judge back, hopefully before October, they would have a very dangerous lineup.Arraez is a rental, who the Yankees could get without giving up a Top 100 prospect. The only downside is that he is left-handed, and the Yankees really need a right-handed bat. Jake Rogers, the longest tenured Detroit Tigers player, has been designated for assignment. Eduardo Valencia was recalled on Sunday and will be taking over the backup catcher duties. Rogers roster spot will go to Javier Bez, who returns from a three-month absence after suffering a high ankle sprain at the end of April. The 31-year-old Rogers made his major league debut with the Tigers back on July 30, 2019 after coming to the Tigers in the trade that sent Justin Verlander to the Houston Astros in August of 2017. He finally became the Tigers primary catcher in 2021 before tearing his UCL and requiring reconstruction surgery that cost him all of the 2022 season. In 2023 and 2024 Rogers put together good seasons based around his defensive ability, plate discipline, and the occasional burst of home run power. He was worth 4.7 fWAR across those two years, but since that point his offensive contributions collapsed as Dillon Dingler took over the everyday catching role. This season, Rogers defense finally showed real signs of cracking as well. Hes hitting .161/.266/.301 for a 60 wRC+ which ranks him 48th out of 59 catchers with 100 plate appearances or more this season.Despite his struggles, two part-time White Sox catchers, and numerous others, are even worse offensive players than Rogers. It wont be a surprise if he gets claimed, but its too bad no one would flip a lottery ticket prospect to acquire him. The problem is that Rogers defensive numbers have declined this year and hes finally grading out a little below average as a defender. Whether thats partly the result of lack of playing time is hard to say, but hopefully hell be claimed somewhere. If he clears waivers and is outrighted the Tigers will still be on the hook for the rest of his $3.05M salary for 2026. Valencia is far and away a better hitter than Rogers, so that should provide a little support to the offense. On the other hand, Valencia isnt that good behind the plate, particularly in terms of holding opponents running game in check. Still with Rogers defensive numbers in decline, perhaps Valencia wont do worse. Getting Bez back could be pretty helpful to the Tigers although its just funny to look at Bez as a way to trim strikeouts in the lineup by taking over some of the workload from James Outman. It will be interesting to see how hes deployed. With Kerry Carpenter out with a foot injury, the outfield needs help. It needed help anyway. Well see if Bez is back to full speed and can get back to playing a solid enough center field. If hes back to 100 percent, that also gives the Tigers options, with Bez getting some time at shortstop and around the infield to get another right-handed bat into the lineup. Either way, its good to have Javy Bez back, and hopefully further support for the outfield isnt too far away as Max Clark will be available to be called up without spoiling his 2027 rookie eligibility as long as the Tigers wait until mid-August. Perhaps Rogers will clear waivers and just end up accepting an assignment back in Triple-A. Hes obviously very well liked in the clubhouse and has had future coach written all over him for a long time. Well see if theres still major league work left for him as a catcher, or whether its time to start thinking about moving over to the instructional side. Probably a team will pick him up on the cheap, at least for a little while. Either way, best of luck to the Sheriff.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Draymond Green has agreed to a one-year, $27.7 million deal to return to the Golden State Warriors, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Tuesday.Green will sign the contract that essentially matches the deal he opted out of last month before the Warriors made an unsuccessful bid to sign LeBron James, the person said.The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal hadnt been announced.ESPN first reported the deal.Green is now set to play his 15th season with the Warriors and if he plays in 51 games he will join Stephen Curry as the only players in franchise history to appear in at least 1,000 contests.Green, Curry and coach Steve Kerr are the main remaining pieces of the team from the dynasty that delivered four championships. Golden State last won the title in 2022 and havent made it past the second round of the playoffs since then. The Warriors missed the playoffs this past season when they lost to Phoenix in the play-in tournament.Golden State tried to add James earlier this offseason and Green waited to sign his deal until after James made his decision to sign with Philadelphia to give the Warriors more flexibility. Green, Curry and Jimmy Butler are all entering the final seasons of their current contracts, although Curry could sign an extension starting late next month.Green has been one of the best defensive players in the NBA since being drafted in the second round in 2012. He has made nine all-defensive teams and was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2016-17.He has averaged 8.7 points per game in his career, along with 6.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists. WASHINGTON, D.C. When the ball left Bo Bichettes bat, nothing felt more forever than the Toronto Blue Jays.World Series Game 7. Packed house. Closed dome. Everything on the line. Bichette, playing on one good leg, clocked one deep to send the place into joyous anarchy. As that white speck ricochetted into a delirious throng, the greatest baseball player on Earth, one Shohei Ohtani, folded over in total exhaustion, defeated. The man of the moment circled the bases under an umbrella of noise, and it all seemed like the beginning of something.Nine months later, those Toronto Blue Jays who, yes, were upended by the Dodgers in dramatic, soul-snatching fashion in that Game 7 feel a universe away.With less than a week until the MLB trade deadline, the 2026 club is fighting for its future. Five games and six teams stand between Toronto and the third AL wild-card spot. At 49-58 entering play Tuesday, they are an unfathomable nine games under .500. Among American League outfits, only the Royals, Athletics and Angels have lower playoff odds than the Jays 7.8%.Despite an emphatic offseason, things have gone about as sideways as possible in Toronto. Megastar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has wallowed through the worst year of his career, clobbering just six long balls, none of which have come at Rogers Centre. The rest of the lineup hasnt fared much better. Age came for George Springer. Injuries came for Addison Barger. Regression came for Daulton Varsho. The Mets and their mountains of money came for Bo Bichette. The result is an offense that ranks dead last in runs per game, on-base percentage and isolated slugging, despite the best efforts of Ernie Clement and Kazuma Okamoto.This is all a long-winded way of saying: The Blue Jays should sell.They certainly have the pieces to do so. Veteran hurlers Kevin Gausman and Shane Bieber are impending free agents who could start playoff games elsewhere. Springer and Varsho will also hit the market at seasons end. Given the dearth of right-handed power (Springer) and center fielders (Varsho) on the trade block, both could fetch worthwhile returns.Thats not to say Toronto should embark on a full teardown. The 2027 season (should it happen) still looks promising. Dylan Cease has proven himself to be a legitimate ace. Guerrero cant be this bad again. Hopefully Barger and out-for-2026 righty arm Cody Ponce come back healthy. Maybe the Jays will even get something from the long-forgotten-about Anthony Santander. Plus, Toronto has just south of 100 million American dollars coming off the books this winter. That added spending power, regardless of whatever economic system governs baseball next season, should allow the Jays to once again make some noise in free agency.Still, there are doubts around the industry about the vitality of this organization. Some insiders see the 2025 Jays as a blip, not a harbinger. That was true even at the time. Theirs is a shoddy farm system and a player-development apparatus with a substandard track record of making players better. Even if Guerrero returns to form, its unclear whether the Jays have another All-Star position player anywhere in the organization.Thats part of why opting to stay the course in 2026 would be a disservice to the 2027 team, even if it's unlikely that Toronto can acquire game-changing talent in returns this week. At this point, anything to reinforce organizational depth would be helpful.The current club, to its credit, has not yet waved the white flag. Toronto won a close one on Monday against the upstart Washington Nationals. Birthday boy Max Scherzer was sufficient enough to begin his 42nd trip around the sun. The offense did just enough. The Jays' above-average pen carried things the rest of the way.Crucially, the Blue Jays didnt look like a defeated team. Guerrero was running the bases with abandon, diving headlong on multiple occasions. Closer Louis Varland blew triple-digit heat past Luis Garcia Jr. to secure a one-run victory. Postgame, players were upbeat and jovial in the clubhouse. They and skipper John Schneider are maintaining the clichd-yet-appropriate position of "controlling what they can control.Its a week away, and a lot can happen. Schneider said pregame. Its like, how do you beat a really good young team? And thats it. ... For me, its Groundhog Day.Yet as Schneider spoke to reporters in his office in the Nationals Park visitors clubhouse, a reminder of his teams precipitous position flickered in the background. Just over his right shoulder, a TV tuned to MLB Network ran a segment debating whether the Blue Jays should be sellers.This is life at the deadline: Coaches and players doing whatever possible to compartmentalize the uncomfortable while executives upstairs remove the emotion from the proceedings.Perhaps things will change between now and pencils down at 6 p.m. ET Monday. Maybe the Jays will get hot and propel themselves back up the standings. There is time, albeit precious little, to change the narrative of this season.But the likeliest scenario involves unreasonable playoff odds. So hopefully the powers that be, GM Ross Atkins and his staff, adopt a realistic approach to this trade season and sell off their rentals. Thats the most realistic path to getting the Canadian thunderdome jumping again.

She was the youngest member of the Team GB squad at 17.In 2025, Evans won a silver medal on the floor at the World Championships in Jakarta.As well as her sporting success, she is also popular on social media with more than 117,000 Instagram followers.So, Evans was one of the most recognisable faces in the Team Wales squad coming to Glasgow and under pressure to deliver success.Evans admits she was not comfortable with the poster girl image."I struggled a bit in camp," said Evans. "It was like, 'Ruby Evans, Ruby Evans', so I knew there was a bit of pressure on me."You have to block it out as best as you can. Evans was second after two of the four disciplines before she had a terrible beam routine, which included a faltering start and falling off halfway.That dropped her to seventh and only a miracle on the floor would see her rise back to the top three.She ended up sixth. It left her distraught and you hoped that would not be the defining image of her Games.Evans pulled out of the uneven bars on Monday as she rested a shoulder injury."I just watched the competition, had some food and chilled and watched the Love Island final," said Evans.Evans watched the 20-year-old Roper identical twins providing one of Wales' stories of Glasgow so far by winning bronze medals within a couple of hours of each other.Abigail beat Emily to the the third podium position in the vault. Emily brushed aside the disappointment of finishing fourth to return to claim bronze in the uneven bars with the iconic image of her sister cheering her on from the stands.A first Welsh women's vault for 32 years, a first bars medal in history. The nemesis from the all-around individual final. Evans came out to a big roar and produced the trademark dragons symbol of the Welsh team before bursting out laughing. She seemed relaxed. A welcome sign. It was a much more solid performance as she finished seventh. An expected result.This was just the warm-up before the main event an hour later when the floor competition began. The word had come that the outfit would not be just the traditional red, white and green of Wales but something sparkly and it did not disappoint.Evans was the final one of the eight competitors to perform. Would it be the best until last?England's Abigail Martin was first and set the standard. Six others tried and failed to topple her. Then it was the turn of Evans as her golden costume almost blended into the floor.There was a hush as she delivered one of the most impressive performances of her short, but glittering, career so far.Evans stated how she used her anger from the week to drive her on in her signature discipline. It worked."I feel like I perform better when I have a bit of fire in me," said Evans."It's like a completely different feeling. I went out there like my dragon was absolutely firing."But was it enough? Nobody was quite sure. The Roper twins were pictured on the big screen cheering. They like everybody in the Welsh pockets of the stands hoped so.The wait was agonising. Finally the verdict was in. Wales had its first gold medal winner. Evans could not quite believe it.'I am happy to feel nothing'The round of interviews began, then came the national anthem that Wales had been waiting five days of competition for.The Welsh gymnastics fraternity were still in the building and you could hear their whooping and cheering as Ruby showed off her medal.Evans was rushed off to Team Wales house to celebrate with family and friends. Playing tenpin bowling there was on the agenda for celebration plans."I feel relieved it's done," said Evans. "I can just chill out and know I did something. "It's a good feeling and I feel so calm. I'm so chill."My feelings have been everywhere for the past two weeks."Now I can just feel nothing. I'm just happy to feel nothing."What a week for Ruby Evans. One she will never forget.

"I went out and I ran really quick in that, I threw the gauntlet down and ran as fast as I could to make it difficult for the rest of the girls," she added."If the sun was shining and it was a nice warm day, I would have been gutted with that time because I've been running quick in training."But considering it's lashing rain and freezing cold out there and I had 10 minutes to warm up, I am delighted with that performance."Northern Ireland's Anna McCauley holds sixth place after she won the second heat of the 200m, and is within 39 points of a bronze medal.Prior to that, McCauley had finished sixth in the hurdles and high jump, and posted the seventh-best distance in the shot put with 12.13m.
