It's important to remember that when discussing player stock with plenty of time left in the offseason, plus three preseason games. That being said, there are some standouts for the Bolts in the early going. Here are four of them.WR Brenen ThompsonThe rookie wide receiver has quickly turned heads by injecting massive speed into the offense. He made multiple plays, including a sliding catch and several deep receptions, and drew strong praise from quarterback Justin Herbert, who highlighted Thompson's playmaking ability.S Genesis SmithCompeting for the third safety role alongside players like Tony Jefferson and R.J. Micken, the former Arizona product showcased his deep-field range ball skills, making multiple plays early on. Hes been really impressive so far," defensive coordinator Chris O'Leary said.EDGE Akheem MesidorThe first-round pick from Miami has looked explosive and twitchy, notably splitting a double team for what would have been a tackle for loss on Day 1. With Tuli Tuipulotu holding in amid contract talks, Mesidor has gotten first-team edge reps and continued flashing. Safety Derwin James praised his explosiveness and get-off.RB Keaton MitchellMitchell has shown the explosiveness and speed that made him a unique offensive weapon in prior seasons. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMPadres Reacts Survey Results: San Diego run has not changed deadline approach for fansSan Diego, California - May 22: San Diego Padres fans celebrate as Fernando Tatis Jr. #23 rounds the bases during the eighth inning against the Athletics at Petco Park on Friday, May 22, 2026 in San Diego, California. (Photo by Meg McLaughlin / The San Diego Union-Tribune via Getty Images)Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Padres fans and fans across the country.Sign up hereto participate in the weekly emailed surveys. The San Diego Padres came out of the All-Star break and got their teeth kicked in, according to second baseman Jake Cronenworth. The Padres dropped two out of three to the lowly Kansas City Royals and then went to Atlanta where they dropped three out of four to the Braves. For a team needing to play well enough to convince team ownership to invest at the Trade Deadline it was not the return to play anyone wanted to see. San Diego then went to Miami and the Padres pulled off a three-game sweep of the Marlins before returning home to host the Colorado Rockies. In this weeks Padres Reacts Survey, Gaslamp Ball wanted to know if San Diego had done enough to sway the minds of the Friar Faithful about what they should do at the trade deadline. Well the answer was a resounding No! To be fair, we do not know if those who responded wanted to buy, sell or stand pat but whatever their stance was they are unchanged. The question was asked prior to the results of the homestand so if asked again on the eve of the MLB Trade Deadline the response might be different. The Padres have won eight of their last nine games and have pulled within a game of the final Wild Card spot in the National League. The offense has been much improved from where it was to start the season, and the pitching has been cobbled together with the Pitching Chaos approach. This may or may not be the team to challenge the Los Angeles Dodgers in for the NL crown, but that may be a question for next week depending on what happens by 3 p.m. PST on Monday.Brought to you byFanDuel Sportsbook, the official sportsbook partner of SB Nation.0 Comments 0 Shares 37 Views 0 Reviews

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMJerry Jones verdict on Mark Cuban joining Cowboys ownership after losing power on the MavericksCredit: Sam Hodde/Kent NISHIMURA / AFP via Getty ImagesDallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed his stance on embracing Mark Cuban as a potential member of the NFL teams ownership group.Cuban sold the Mavericks in December 2023 to the Sands Group, led by Miriam Adelson and Patrick Dumont, retaining a minority stake and a verbal promise that he would continue to run basketball operations.Unfortunately, Cuban has been completely sidelined as a member of the Mavericks front office. However, he could earn respect as an owner in a new sport in Dallas.Jerry Jones would welcome Mark Cuban into Cowboys ownershipIn an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Jones made it clear hed be more than happy to welcome Cuban into the Cowboys ownership fold if he were to seek additional investment.Thats exactly why, if youre me, you would be open to that is because of the man. I have all the respect in the world for him, and I know what he did for the Mavericks and what hes done for basketball You want to associate with the highest quality of [a person] who loves the game and then also at the same time wants to do something about it. Mark leads the way in that.Cuban already confirmed in the same story that his private equity group would be interested in an ownership stake of the Cowboys if it were available. With the NFL capping private equity ownership in teams at 10%, Cubans Harbinger Group purchasing a stake in the Cowboys would still be less than what he still owns of the Mavericks.Photo by Ron Jenkins/Fort Worth Star-Telegram/Tribune News Service via Getty ImagesBut with Cuban and Jones sharing a far more cordial relationship than Cuban does with Dumont on the Mavericks, this might be an appealing way to stay in the thick of Dallas sports with ownership stakes in their two biggest sports teams. What went wrong for Mark Cuban on the Mavericks? When Cuban sold the team to the Adelsons, he only took a verbal guarantee that hed remain the teams Governor and run basketball operations. However, after the sale was complete, Dumont was put in place as the Governor, and Nico Harrison was given unilateral control over the teams basketball decisions, freezing Cuban out. This inevitably led to Harrisons in-house rampage, which led to Luka Doncic being sent to the Los Angeles Lakers in one of the worst trades in NBA history.Despite Harrison almost ruining the franchise without oversight, Cuban wasnt reintroduced to the fold, with the team relying on front office hires like Matt Ricardi to do their job and fix the team after Harrison was let go.The franchise hired Masai Ujiri to revamp the front office this summer, with old Cuban loyalists slowly leaving the franchise under its new era.Cuban still has material profits to earn after retaining an ownership stake in the franchise, but hes no longer the superfan-turned-owner who never missed a home game.Read more:Jalen Brunson creates hilarious meme with viral video from Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones weddingBen Stiller says why hes going to miss New York Knicks champion after free agency moveLeBron James emergency plan if he loses $1.4 billion fortune involves two ultra-rare rookie cards0 Comments 0 Shares 38 Views 0 Reviews

Adding more options in his offensive arsenal should definitely help him. With Kyrie Irving set to return from an ACL injury, Flagg would have to share the ball. But he has always been a selfless player, even at Duke, so that should not be an issue.
