Detroit also announced the release of wide receiver Tarik Black.Muse, 27, has appeared in 16 career NFL games, though it's been almost exclusively on special teams. Sophomore guard Rakim Chaney is journaling his and the teams experiences for Mid-Major Madness.Whats going on, everybody? My name is Rakim Chaney. I am a sophomore on the Valpo mens basketball team, and I will be updating you guys this week each day throughout our trip here in Nassau, The Bahamas.Saturday, we left Valpo early around 7 a.m. and got to the OHare Airport to check in and begin boarding for our flight. We arrived in Nassau around 3 p.m. and headed to our hotel at the Baha Mar Resort.We took our first few minutes to check in our bags and into our rooms before meeting each other in our team room to go over the general Baha Mar rules and our team rules for the trip. After the meeting, a few other guys and I checked out the Pizza Pub Restaurant in the resort, and it was pretty good.We then got a chance to check out some parts of the resort, and I went to go spend some time with my family who drove down the street from their hotel.On Sunday morning, before we had a good preparation practice for our first game, we all met to go eat breakfast at the Regatta restaurant. Most of the guys rushed to the French toast stand, which was really good, but I think most of our favorites were the fruit stand, which included dragon fruit along with some natural juices as well. It felt good to try some new fruits, juices, and other dishes that we dont see a lot in our country, let alone in Valpo.We practiced for about an hour and a half after breakfast and immediately headed over to another gym to begin our community engagement event with the Rev Foundation. This was a phenomenal experience for me personally to be able to interact with kids who are in the same shoes I once was in when I was their age.As soon as we laced up our shoes, they began checking the ball up and trying to play against every Valpo player 1-on-1. So after Coach [Roger Powell Jr.] taught them a few things about his career experience and different life exposure, we had the opportunity to spend time with them to run them through a few drills for 20 minutes, where we let them compete against each other before wrapping up the event.We ended our night off with a good catered dinner, which included salmon, grilled chicken, rice, mashed potatoes, veggies, and salad options for our sides.I will make sure to keep you guys updated and catch you up on Tuesday after our second game against Dalhousie!

PHILADELPHIA Eagles rookie wide receiver Makai Lemon was suited up and participated in individual drills Monday but did not take part in team periods during Philadelphias first padded practice of training camp. Lemon was not listed on the teams pre-practice injury report, and the Eagles did not immediately provide an explanation for his absence from competitive drills. His status will bear monitoring when Philadelphia returns to the field.The team announced that outside linebacker Keyshawn James-Newby would not practice because of an ankle injury. Offensive linemen Micah Morris and Jaeden Roberts were sidelined by shoulder and calf injuries, respectively, while safety Cole Wisniewski remained out with a hamstring issue.Right tackle Lane Johnson missed his second consecutive practice because of an excused, non-injury-related absence. Second-year offensive lineman Cameron Williams was listed as limited while working through a knee contusion.Lemons omission from the report distinguishes his situation from those absences. He completed positional work before stepping aside when the offense moved into team periods, suggesting the Eagles were controlling his workload for a reason that had not been disclosed. Philadelphia selected Lemon after a productive career at Southern California. He dealt with a hamstring issue during the spring but participated in summer workouts organized by Jalen Hurts and was active during the opening practices of camp.Lemon is competing for a role in a deep receiver room led by DeVonta Smith. Missing team repetitions can slow a rookies development, particularly while learning multiple alignments in Sean Mannions offense.One reduced practice should not materially affect that competition. It's been well documented that Duke head coach Jon Scheyer has produced more NBA talent from college since taking over for previous head coach Mike Krzyzewski than any other school. Those NBA alumni include three recent draft picks, Cameron Boozer, Isaiah Evans and Maliq Brown, who are set to begin their first NBA season this fall.However, according to NBA Draft odds website Tankathon, there could be even more Blue Devils selected in the 2027 NBA Draft. Currently, Tankathon has four Duke players on their big board, none higher than incoming freshman Cameron Williams, who is projected to land No. 7 overall to the Atlanta Hawks.Patrick Ngongba II is projected to land just inside the lottery at No. 15 (new draft rules beginning in 2027 expand lottery from 14 to 16 picks) with the Golden State Warriors. Then in the second-round Tankathon has Dame Sarr as the No. 44 overall selection and Cayden Boozer as the No. 55 overall pick.This projection did not include transfer addition John Blackwell, who recently took part in the 2026 NBA Draft combine.
