Mel Kiper Jr. doesnt understand why people want to keep hating on Shedeur Sanders
Edit by Liam McGuire, Comeback Media.ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. has been one of Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders most ardent supporters in the media. Recently, Kiper even mentioned Sanders as one of the premier quarterbacks in the division, despite the fact that it remains unclear whether hell be declared as the starter this season. On Wednesday, Kiper Jr. called into The Really Big Show and made it clear that he doesnt understand not only why Sanders doesnt have more media members in his corner, but why there is so much negativity surrounding the young quarterback.I dont get, I really dont understand whats going on with Shedeur, I dont understand why people want to keep hating and hating, Kiper said.Nothing new for KiperSanders had a pedestrian rookie season last year, finishing the campaign with 7 touchdown passes, 10 interceptions, and a 68.1 quarterback rating, which was 49th out of 50 qualified quarterbacks. Still, Kiper wanted to know what Sanders had to do to mitigate the hate. What the hell has he got to do? Are we going to get into this negativity again about Shedeur, Kiper asked. I dont know what else the kid needs to do. Josh Allen had haters in year three so if Josh Allen has haters in year two and three of his career, theres no way Sheduer can avoid it.Unfortunately for Kiper, reports from Wednesday indicate that after voluntary minicamp veteran Deshaun Watson has the inside track to the starting job in Cleveland. Mandatory minicamp for Cleveland will take place from July 9-11.The post Mel Kiper Jr. doesnt understand why people want to keep hating on Shedeur Sanders appeared first on The Comeback: Todays Top Sports Stories & Reactions.

Zinedine Zidane's Son Luca Suffers Fractured Jaw, Could Miss World Cup
Algeria have been hit with a significant injury scare ahead of the 2026 World Cup, with goalkeeper Luca Zidane emerging as a major doubt for the tournament. The Granada shot-stopper, son of France legend Zinedine Zidane, suffered a serious facial injury during a Spanish second-division clash against Almeria on Sunday. Disaster strikes in Segunda Divisin clash The 27-year-old goalkeeper was forced off the pitch following a heavy collision with Almeria striker Thalys, which initially left him with a concussion. However, subsequent medical evaluations have painted a much bleaker picture for the former Real Madrid man as he prepares for the biggest summer of his career. Granada confirmed the extent of the damage in an official club statement, which read: "Medical tests carried out have revealed that the goalkeeper has also suffered a fracture to his jaw and chin." The injury is expected to rule him out for the remainder of the domestic season, leaving his international aspirations hanging by a thread. World Cup dreams in jeopardy The timing could not have been worse for Zidane, who has recently established himself as a key figure for the Fennecs. Algeria are scheduled to begin their World Cup campaign on June 16 against reigning world champions Argentina in Kansas City, leaving the goalkeeper with a race against time to prove his fitness. Having officially switched allegiance from France to Algerialast year, the Marseille-born star had been "ready to give everything" for the country of his paternal grandparents. Now, his participation depends on his recovery speed and a looming decision on surgical intervention. Surgery looms for Granada star Granada and Zidane are currently weighing up the next steps, with surgery likely to extend his period on the sidelines significantly and almost certainly rule him out of the summer festivities. The club added: "The player, in consultation with the club's medical staff, will decide in the coming hours on the course of treatment to be followed for his injury." Petkovic faces goalkeeper headache Algeria head coach Vladimir Petkovic will be watching the situation closely, as Zidane had started four of the nation's five games during the last Africa Cup of Nations. The goalkeeper also played the full 90 minutes in a recent goalless draw against Uruguay, solidifying his status as a regular for the national team. If Zidane is unable to recover in time for the trip to North America, Petkovic will have to look elsewhere for experience between the sticks. For Zidane, who has spent the majority of his career forging his own path in the Spanish second tier, missing out on the world stage would be a cruel blow after finally stepping out from the shadow of his famous father.

'Smacks Australia's best fast bowlers': Pathan in awe of Sooryavanshis bold approach
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has taken IPL 2026 by storm, playing fearless cricket against some of the worlds best bowlers and currently leading the Orange Cap race with 400 runs. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan believes the teenagers audacious approach signals an exciting shift in Indian cricket, where young players are no longer intimidated by big names or reputations.Australian pacers have long been known for their dominance, built on pace, precision, and relentless hard lengths. But Sooryavanshi has approached them with remarkable confidence, taking on the likes of Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins right from the outset. From hitting a first-ball six off Jasprit Bumrah, to taking on Trent Boult, and the same audacity against Cummins and then dismantling Hazlewood with a sequence of 4, 4, 4, 6 in an over, Sooryavanshi has shown no hesitation in attacking some of the finest bowlers of the modern era.Pathans comments come amid a wave of emerging talent making an immediate impact at the highest level, reflecting a mindset where age and experience are no longer barriers. It's an exciting time for Indian cricket. The way they play fearless cricket, and you know, they don't worry about anything. They don't worry about getting out. They don't worry about, you know, who's bowling in front of them. A 15-year-old boy (Sooryavanshi) goes and smacks one of Australia's best fast bowlers. So, there is no better side, you know, in cricket at the moment, especially from the Indian side, Pathan told IANS on the sidelines of the EUT20 Belgium jersey launch event. And Sooryavanshi isnt just attacking top bowlers - hes dismissing reputations. Against a roll call of elite names, there are no sighters, no respect for pedigree, just instant intent. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was hit for four off the very first ball he bowled to him, while Arshdeep Singh was greeted with 6, 4, 4 in his very first over. Even the craft of Sunil Narine and Sirajs pace did not stop him - both were taken on almost immediately. And when Ferguson came steaming in the other night, Sooryavanshi reeled off 4, 4, 6 in his opening burst. And overall, among all the bowlers he has faced in the IPL so far, the reading looks even more impressive. Only against Mohsin Khan and Narine has Sooryavanshi been unable to break the shackles, while Rashid Khan and Prasidh Krishna have had a more balanced outing against the young Turk.

Here's everything to know about Week 6: Week 6 (April 30-May 3) St. Louis Battlehawks (3-2) at Louisville Kings (2-3) Key players: Battlehawks QB Brandon Silvers, OLB Pita Taumoepenu; Kings QB Chandler Rogers, QB Jason Bean, WR Isaiah Winstead, TE Zach Davidson. What to know: As both of these teams are coming off wins in Week 5, the St. Louis Battlehawks and the Louisville Kings will battle to keep their winning momentum intact. The Battlehawks topped the Orlando Storm 25-17 to hand them their first loss of the season. Quarterback Harrison Frost threw for 185 passing yards and 20-for-31 passing. Especially coming off a loss in Week 4 to the D.C. Defenders, responding with a win was key for this squad. The Kings also earned a win in Week 5, defeating the Dallas Renegades 47-25. Quarterback Chandler Rogers finished with 150 receiving yards, 13-for-18 passing and no touchdowns, but running back Ian Wheeler made up for it with his four touchdowns and 62 rushing yards. The Battlehawks pose as the stronger team, but don't count out Rogers and the Kings. Houston Gamblers (2-3) at Columbus Aviators (1-4) Key players: Gamblers QB Nolan Henderson, QB Taulia Tagovoila, QB Hunter Dekkers, WR Jontre Kirklin, WR Justin Hall; Aviators QB Jalan McLendon, WR Tay Martin, WR Antwane Wells Jr., WR Keke Chism, TE Alize Mack, RB Zaquandre White, RB John Lovett. What to know: The Houston Gamblers are heading into Week 6 following a narrow victory over the Columbus Aviators, 17-14. Marking just their second win this season, Houston's win could help them build momentum facing Columbus for a second consecutive week. Quarterback Nolan Henderson finished with 146 passing yards and 13-for-25 passing. What stood out was Houston's defense, with defensive end Malik Fisher recording six tackles, one sack and one tackle for loss and linebacker Marvin Moody notching 11 tackles and one tackle for loss. Nonetheless, the entire Aviators combined for six tackles for loss, two takeaways and just 261 yards allowed. The Aviators dropped to 1-4, sitting at the bottom of the rankings next to the Birmingham Stallions. Quarterback Jalan McClendon threw for 165 passing yards and 15-for-22 passing. In a rematch from Week 5, the Aviators will look to bounce back, while the Gamblers hope to keep their winning momentum going. Dallas Renegades (3-2) at DC Defenders (4-1) Key players: Renegades QB Austin Reed, WR Tyler Vaughns, WR Greg Ward, WR Drake Stoops, RB Dae Dae Hunter; Defenders QB Jordan Ta'amu, QB Jason Bean, RB Deon Jackson, K Matt McCrane. What to know: The D.C. Defenders hit the ground running in their Week 5 win over the Birmingham Stallions 45-28. Quarterback Jordan Ta'amu continues to shine for D.C., where he finished with 275 passing yards, 15-for-22 and four touchdowns. The Dallas Renegades are coming off their second straight loss this season, when they fell to the Kings 47-25. Renegades quarterback Austin Reed threw a pick in the red zone which was returned for a Louisville touchdown. Other than his pick six, Reed finished with a pair of touchdowns and 144 passing yards. Riding a fourgame win streak into Week 6, D.C. has the momentum, but Dallas is capable of making things difficult. Birmingham Stallions (1-4) at Orlando Storm (4-1) Key players: Stallions QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, WR Justyn Ross, WR Jaydon Mickens, RB Anthony McFarland Jr., WR Deon Cain; Storm QB Jack Plummer, QB Matt Corral, WR Chris Rowland, WR Elijhah Badger, WR KJ Hamler, K Michael Lantz. What to know: The Orlando Storm suffered their first loss of the season, falling 25-17 to the Battlehawks. Now, they look to bounce back against the Birmingham Stallions, who are coming off a 45-28 loss to the Defenders. Following their loss, they still stand atop the rankings, right next to D.C. Orlando do have strong passers in quarterbacks, Jack Plummer and Matt Corral, and will look to get back in the win column against Birmingham. The Stallions recently found a new offensive weapon with quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson through a trade. Thompson-Robinson finished his first game as a Stallion with 312 passing yards, two touchdowns and a 65.1% completion rate. Despite his two receptions, Birmingham may have just found an electric signal-caller. While Thompson-Robinson is still new to the Stallions playbook, he could give the Storm's defense trouble. Single-game, season and group tickets are available now at www.theufl.com/tickets.

They have plenty of competetion for the four-star prospect, who is also considering the Clemson Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Kentucky Wildcats. He has scheduled official visits with every program except Kentucky for this summer, and they will play a key role in his recruitment. The Lakeland, Florida, native spoke with Zach Blostein of Noles247 about his recruitment and explained why he is interested in the Seminoles, the only in-state school he is considering."Florida State -- the opportunity to stay home, and why not be able to have the opportunity to do it four hours away instead of a couple hours away, a couple days away from other states," he said.Harvey is a key target for FSU edge and pass rush coach Nick Williams, who recently visited him at his home.
