A coaching change led to a flurry of activity in the transfer portal, which led to a number of new faces on the program. We have taken some time to profile each player on the roster this season, but now it is time to dig a little deeper on the 25 players who will play the largest roles on the roster.The tight end position has been one of the more consistently productive positions at Penn State over the past decade, but there is a new coaching staff putting together the offensive game plans now. Despite the changes, the tight end position should still be instrumental in the success of the Penn State offense in 2026, and the return of Andrew Rappleyea gives Penn State a possible star in the making at the position as he enters his redshirt junior season. Could this be a breakout candidate?2025 in reviewAfter essentially missing the entire 2024 season due to injury, Andrew Rappleyea saw action in 13 games during the 2025 season, including eight starts. Rappleyea recorded 20 receptions for 180 yards with three touchdowns, and he ended the season with some momentum in the offense. Rappleyea had a career-long 53-yard catch in the regular-season finale against Rutgers, and he ended the season with a pivotal 11-yard touchdown in the Pinstripe Bowl victory over Clemson. In the Pinstripe Bowl, Rappleyea had five receptions for 18 yards.Biggest question for 2026What exactly will the tight end position look like in 2026, and what role will Andrew Rappleyea fill in it? Rappleyea was the second-leading tight end on the roster last season behind Luke Reynolds, who followed James Franklin to Virginia Tech by way of the transfer portal this offseason. But Penn State brought in former Iowa State tight ends Benjamin Brahmer and Gabe Burkle from the transfer portal to fill the roster. Catching 30 passes for a few hundred receiving yards and a few touchdowns may be all that is needed to qualify as a success this fall.2026 will be a disappointment if...If Rappleyea does not end the season as Penn State's top tight end in terms of receiving production, that would be a bit of a disappointment. That may not mean the offense is hindered, as Benjamin Brahmer could be an option to be a leading contributor.Realistic outlook for 2026Do not expect to see Andrew Rappleya turn in a massive year in terms of receiving yards and touchdowns, but it will be fair to expect to see him be a consistent factor in the offensive game plan. A few untamed Broncos emerged during Denver's practice on Tuesday.Practice fights aren't out of the ordinary during NFL training camp, as emotions run high during sweltering weather. It is rare, though, to see a quarterback at the center of it all.Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix was reportedly at the center of a training camp fight on Tuesday, after the passer pulled the leg of a teammate during a scuffle.Per reports, Nix was sacked and taken down to the ground earlier in practice, leading to the passer throwing the ball out of anger. A few plays later, several offensive and defensive linemen converged and began to brawl, when Nix would then pull pass rusher Nik Bonitto off the pile by his leg, according to reporters at the practice.Bonitto would have to be held back by teammates after he was pulled off. Offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton had to leave practice after he was bleeding from the head.After practice, the quarterback was pretty welcoming of the scrum."I love it, it's football," Nix told reporters. "It's getting me ready for the games coming up. It's a physical practice out there played by physical people. It got intense, and we were just really enjoying it. Sometimes during the dog days of summer, practice gets long and the intensity runs high."It's crucial for Nix to avoid hitting the turf at all during practice. Yahoo analyst Scott Pianowski has been preaching the same going into this season and has Robinson as one of his favorite targets for 2026. Justin Boone also prefers the No. 2 pick in the draft because you get your pick of Gibbs or Bijan in most cases. I agree with both those sentiments; drafting in the 1 or 2 slot at least makes your initial decision pretty easy, so you can focus more on what's to come in your draft. As for strategy, in the No. 1 mock we used more of a Hero RB approach and waited a bit at WR. This time around, we made a concerted effort to go WR in Rounds 2-3 (but also balanced things out a bit throughout). Running backs will likely fly off the board so I made it a priority to shore up my starters before the fifth/sixth round. You can check out some of our analysts favorite strategies for this season here. Rolling the Dice on Malik Nabers + More WR ThoughtsNabers has been the most talked about player in fantasy football this offseason. Right now, it's looking like he'll be OK for the start of the season. And even if Nabers were to miss the opener or a few games, I feel good enough about my WR room withstanding that early on. But with this pick, I get a player with first-round upside at a third-round price, which feels like a risky (but potentially rewarding move). When Nabers is healthy and on the field, he's one of the best WRs in the world. The Giants also don't have a ton of target competition and I trust the new coaching staff to make sure Nabers gets his. Joel Smyth breaks down Nabers' potential to bounce back and what history tells us. I love Olave as my WR1, especially after it looks like Jordyn Tyson will miss the start of the season with a hamstring injury. Though, you could argue it'll hurt the Saints offense overall. But given the type of game scripts New Orleans should be in (and the offense's pace of play), Olave should be a target hound all season. He's also coming off his best NFL campaign and is entering his prime years at age 26. Kellen Moore is an exciting young head coach and Tyler Shough is an exciting young QB sign me up. Hayden Winks talks a bit about Olave's stock moving up after Week 1 of the preseason here. I decided to roll with another QB-WR stack in this draft with Williams and Odunze. I'm a big Rome believer, same as my colleague Matt Harmon, who has Odunze as one of his "My Guys" in his Draft Day Blueprint, which you can check out here. Odunze feels like the perfect Year 3 post-hype sleeper in a great offensive environment. Plus, his draft cost is great at an ADP of 68.4. I had to reach a bit for him given my draft position, but don't be afraid to do that every so often, as Pianowski writes in his draft mistakes to avoid. Late-Round Tight EndI'm a big believer in the strategy and am also fine streaming the position in most cases during the season. But if I'm going to grab a TE late in my draft, I usually want some type of Plan B. In this case, we went with a TE approach that had multiple angles. Likely left for the Giants, leaving Andrews as the clear TE option in Baltimore. I like both situations a lot and both players given their ADPs. Likely also gives me insurance on Nabers; in the event the WR isn't ready for Week 1 or gets hurt again, I can see Likely being a top target for Giants QB Jaxson Dart this season. Boone highlights Likely as one of his breakout TE candidates for this season. As for Andrews, there's virtually no competition behind him on the Ravens' TE depth chart. Rookie Matthew Hibner is getting some hype but he's the only threat to Andrews' snaps/targets it seems. Andrews feels like that boring, overlooked veteran who goes on to finish as a top-12 TE this season (sort of like Dallas Goedert in 2025). Quick RB OverviewI like Judkins as an RB2 given his upside. The Browns aren't the best environment but I think Judkins' talent can win out; he's an explosive play waiting to happen when healthy.I like the idea of taking Charbonnet and stashing him in an injured reserve spot until he's healthy. That allows me to pick someone up off waivers after my draft. Plus, if Bijan and Judkins are great, I'm not worried much about RB the rest of the season. If something happens, Charb could be a solid RB2/3 option by the middle of the season. Lloyd and Corum are high-value backups who should have some role behind their RB1s, but have an easy path to fantasy relevance through injury. Final ThoughtsThe bench and TE position are a bit weak but I really like this build. I have enough insurance if something happens to Nabers and there's tons of upside with guys like Odunze, Caleb Williams, Parker Washington and Judkins. The Dodgers bounced back from their slump with an 11-5 victory over the Rockies on Monday behind two Shohei Ohtani home runs, the Red Sox emphatically snapped their brief skid with an 11-1 blowout of Arizona, and the AL Central race continues to stay packed with four teams separated by just 5.5 games. Most of the MLB divisions range from hotly contested to at least up for grabs, while the wild-card race in both leagues remains wide open. Here is where the postseason races stand with just under over a month remaining in the MLB season. JUMP TO: AL: East | Central | West | Wild CardNL: East | Central | West | Wild Card AL East The Rays extended their division lead to 6.0 games over New York after earning a 7-6 victory over Baltimore on Monday. The Yankees hold second place and occupy the top AL Wild Card spot. Max Fried continues to work back into the rotation alongside Gerrit Cole. However, New York remains without Aaron Judge (rib fracture) and Cody Bellinger, who is out four-to-six weeks with a hamstring strain. The Red Sox sit 8.5 games behind Tampa Bay and 2.5 games behind the Yankees, but rebounded in style on Monday with an 11-1 win over Arizona to stay firmly in the wild-card picture. AL Central The White Sox remain in first place despite a walkoff 10-inning loss to the Cubs on Monday. Chicago has weathered slugging rookie Munetaka Murakami's extended injury absence while maintaining a +45 run differential. Detroit sits in second place, 4.5 games behind Chicago at 61-64, while Minnesota lurks 5.0 games back following a 4-2 win over Atlanta on Monday. Cleveland sits 5.5 games behind at 60-65. Four teams are still fighting in this division with the postseason lurking around the corner. AL West The Astros hold a slim 2.0-game lead in the AL West at 63-62 over the Rangers. Seattle sits 4.0 games off the pace. The most wide-open division in MLB might be the AL West, in part because top contenders carry negative run differentials: Texas sits at minus-47, Houston at minus-30, and Seattle at minus-23. However, Seattle has allowed the fewest runs in the division (512). This is anybody's division in part because no one is stepping up to take it. AL Wild Card The Yankees, who hold an eight-game cushion for the top wild-card position, and Red Sox occupy the top two AL Wild Card spots. Meanwhile, Texas, Detroit, Minnesota, and Cleveland remain packed within 1.5 games of each other, fighting fiercely for that final spot. Boston's midseason turnaround helped erase much of the early damage to its seasonas noted by Monday's 11-1 victory over Arizonabut nothing is locked up yet for any of these clubs as four Central and West contenders stay right on their tail. The AL is a mess, but in a way that will be fun these last two months. NL East Atlanta dropped its road series opener 4-2 to Minnesota on Monday after capping its homestand with a 5-3 victory over Arizona on Sunday to maintain a 6.5-game division cushion over Philadelphia. The Braves dropped two of three over the weekend after reaching 74 wins, however, Atlanta still holds one of the most commanding division leads in MLB. Ronald Acua Jr. continues to lead the lineup on offense and defense since returning in late July. Acua Jr. has five homers and a .520 slugging percentage since returning in late July, energizing Atlanta's lineup at the top of the order. Atlanta remains significantly stronger with Acua in the lineup in 2026, continuing to comfortably outpace its record without him. Philadelphia was just 12-19 at the end of April, but a four-game winning streakcapped by a 6-5 victory over Miami on Mondayhas kept pressure on the division race. July was less kind, but even so, the Phillies hold a solid wild-card position to fall back on. NL Central The Brewers have been their typical steady selves, continuing to hold the most wins in the national. Milwaukee has rotation depth, led by NL Cy Young frontrunner Jacob Misiorowskiwho became the second-fastest pitcher in MLB history to reach 200 strikeouts in a season earlier this month, bringing his total to 204and a lineup that has added rookies Cooper Pratt and Luis Lara to fill holes at short and in right. Milwaukee also picked up Dustin May at the deadline, and he picked up a deserved W in his Brewers' debut. The Cubs might have lost 10 games in a row in mid-May, but also won 10 games in a row on two occasions and stayed hot with Monday's 10th-inning walk-off victory over the White Sox. Pete Crow-Armstrong has established himself as an MVP candidate after a slow start, and leads the majors in WAR as he completed a 30 homer, 30 stolen base season with his walkoff homer against the White Sox. NL West The Diamondbacks remain in the race for the NL west, along with the Padres,who have gone on a heater and now they have Robbie Ray and Casey Mize in the rotation. None of that seems to matter to the Dodgers, though, as Los Angeles expanded its lead to 8.0 games after bouncing back on Monday with an 11-5 victory over Colorado. Los Angeles has already weathered the storm of Mookie Betts' offense disappearing and injuries to the likes of Tommy Edman. Two of the Dodgers biig offseason acquisitions Kyle Tucker and Edwin Diaz, have struggled in routing outings, with Tucker dropping two pop flies within a three day span and Diaz' ERA rising to 11.85. While the dust from the Tarik Skubal has started to settle, the Dodgers' issues are beginning to show. This is a team much more than one minor crisis away from collapsing, but even with the Dodgers' eight game lead it remains worth watching how they navigate the stretch. NL Wild Card The Cubs have proved they can hang with the league's best, sitting atop the wild-card standings after Monday's walk-off victory, while the Phillies, despite a recent slide, have regained their momentum on a four-game winning streak after beating Miami on Monday. The Padres currently hold the final wild-card spot, but the Diamondbacks are right in the mix just 1.0 game back, with the Marlins, Cardinals, Reds, and Pirates all hovering within striking distance of the postseason picture.

It's not Groundhog Day, but it probably feels like it for the NCAA. Another judge has given relief to class of 2022 athletes, and this time, it could directly impact Kentucky basketball.On Tuesday, a California judge granted over 70 athletes a temporary restraining order against the NCAA, allowing them to return to college, and, just as importantly, allowing them to transfer. One of those players is former Michigan State big man Jaxon Kohler.The players named in the suit have until Aug. 24 to enter the transfer portal. Kohler is certain to do so, looking to quickly find a new team for the upcoming season. He told Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports that the Wildcats were among the teams he is looking at along with Louisville, Kansas, and the BYU Cougars. He averaged 12.5 points and 8.9 rebounds for Michigan State last season.The NCAA moved to a new system of eligibility this offseason, giving every player five full seasons at the college level. The Whites were victorious in the inaugural edition of the competition while the fifth-tier outfit were successful last time around.Despite the end result, United had started the match on the front foot. Sam Alker spearheaded a counter attack down the right and after marauding to the edge of the area, the England youth international curled a left-footed strike narrowly over the upright.Then, with Scott Gardners side again searching for the opener, Carrick Njinko laid the ball off for the onrushing Ollie Pickles who saw a fierce 20-yard drive deflect wide of the post.Boreham Wood took the lead with their first venture forward of the evening. Regan Booty was well placed in the middle to loop a header over Robbie Cook and into the back of the net.Keen to restore parity almost immediately, forward Harvey Vincent slid a dangerous ball across the face of goal which Alker would have met just yards out if not for a fine piece of defending by a retreating home shirt.Approaching the half-hour mark, Louis Enahoro-Marcus towered above everyone in the middle when attacking a Pickles set piece, but was unable to power his headed effort on target.Moments later, the hosts doubled their advantage through Lewis Richardson in what would prove to be a difficult spell before the interval for Gardner's side.Farhaan Ali Wahid added a third on the break for Boreham Wood before a fantastic curling Tarryn Allarakhia shot cannoned off the woodwork and into the top corner. McDonald was again influential, driving in from the left and releasing Sam Chambers. A similar incident took place on Saturday in Bayern's home win over RB Leipzig.On Tuesday in Heidenheim, Musiala appeared dazed as he received medical treatment and was helped off the pitch.Musiala later revealed on social media that he had a disorder which could lead to "temporary but treatable seizures"."I have been diagnosed with brief, temporary episodes of absence that are easily treatable and are caused by a neurological dysfunction," Musiala said."These can lead to the moments that have occurred recently, such as against Leipzig and now in Heidenheim."I know that they may seem scary at first glance - but for me, they are currently simply part of my everyday life."Musiala added that he was "incredibly grateful for all your messages and your support"."I am receiving the best possible medical care in this regard, and I am very optimistic."After the match, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said Musiala would comment on the situation soon."Jamal will speak about this in the near future.
