More than 60,000 fans filed into Lambeau Field on Friday for the Green Bay Packers' annual Family Night practice.The unique tradition gives fans a chance to watch their favorite team compete against one another and allows young players to experience what it's like to play in a packed NFL stadium.From sloppy execution to far too many penalties, Green Bay looked like a team that still has a lot of work to do before its regular-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Sep. 13. 15 players sat out Friday's practice, including key pieces like Tucker Kraft, Zach Bako-Bewele, Josh Jacobs and Devonte Wyatt. The Packers need someone to step up at edge in Micah Parsons' absence to begin the regular season, and last year's fourth-round pick has had an impressive camp.K Trey SmackThe pressure of kicking inside a packed NFL stadium didn't completely overwhelm Smack, who made six of his seven field goal attempts on Friday. His makes came from 33, 35, 38, 43, 45, and 47 yards, while his lone miss was a 51-yarder that hooked wide left. The Packers hope their rookie kicker has a practice where he doesn't miss a kick, but it still felt like a step in the right direction. Campbell batted down his fifth pass of training camp on Friday while chasing down quarterback Kyle McCord. Edman was picked off first base, but then Hunter Feduccia reached on another single before Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages walked.Freddie Freeman followed with a fielder's choice that scored Feduccia and that's when Kelly signaled to the dugout that he needed to come out of the game.Kelly gave up one run on two hits and four walks over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four.The 37-year-old Kelly has struggled with cramping issues before, particularly at Chase Field, which can become surprisingly muggy even when the roof is closed like it was on Friday. Instead, the two-time All-Star made his debut for them on Friday night, and he delivered exactly what they had envisioned, throwing seven sharp innings and leading Chicago to a 6-4 victory over the Royals.Listen, it's been a lot," said Gausman, who allowed two runs on four hits and walked one while striking out four. It was my youngest daughter's birthday yesterday, so you know, not just baseball. It's a lot going on. So that's why I say that it was just nice to get out there and just focus on trying to get outs.Gausman had actually struggled the last couple of months with the Blue Jays, going 1-5 with a 5.17 ERA in his final seven starts. Professional Bull Riding took over Amerant Bank Arena on Friday night for day one of the weekend-long competition, and the defending Team Series champion Florida Freedom were the main event.Across five contests, 50 riders and 50 bulls competed to come out on top as South Florida got a dose of PBR competition. In the event, each rider must stay on the bull for 8 seconds with one hand in the bull rope and one hand in the air to earn a score. The clock stops once the rider removes his hand from the rope or touches anything with his free arm.If the rider makes it to 8 seconds, he receives a score out of 50 points based on his control and rhythm. Each ride is out of 100 points, with the bull also receiving up to 50 points for its performance.Coming into the night, Florida ranked No. 3 in the series standings, sitting at 3-2 with 892.45 total points. The squad faced the No. 4 Missouri Thunder to close out the night, and the arena was electric for the home team, coached by PBR Ring of Honor inductee Paulo Crimber.Missouris Paulo Eduardo Rossetto kicked things off on Scrappy and got his team off to a strong start, putting up a quick 89.70 points. Konrad Laimer was the striker, which was unexpected. More than that, though, Bayern Munich played like a bat out of hell. Everything was hard and aggressive. It was impressive to watch the level of energy exerted. Eventually, the boys wore down, but it took 75 minutes or so. Tim Binder is an interesting youngster. He was not always great vs. Aston Villa, but plays with a purpose and with urgency, which will bode well for him in the coming years. Binder has dazzling footwork and a great burst, but he is almost trying a little too hard and does lose the ball a lot right now. All that said, he will get better and just needs to continue to keep that mindset. It was tough to distinguish if it was the broadcast sound or if the Hong Kong crowd would just intermittently get loud. As it turns out, the FCBayern TV broadcast has some big issues. Bayern Munich had some good opportunities in the first half with Arijon Ibrahimovi and Aleksandar Pavlovi just unable to convert.It was a very choppy and sometimes frantic game. Bayern Munich was pressing incredibly hard. Maycon Cardozo, Binder, and Ibrahimovi seem to have endless energy.Offensively, though, it was tough for the kids to get on track. In the 37th minute, Bayern Munich broke through, Tom Bischof whipped in a perfect diagonal ball off of a free kick and Kim Min-jae deftly flicked it in for the 1-0 lead. Bischof was once again the best player on the field for the Bavarians. The youngster looks extremely motivated and is flashing all of the skill and tenacity that we saw from him at Hoffenheim. Luis Daz joined Joo Palhinha in the dyed hair brigade. Daz did not go as subtle as Palhinha as he sported a platinum look. Who did the platinum better Daz or Robert Lewandowski?Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot saved this game from being a complete blowout. He had a few great stops against Bayern Munich. In the 66th minute, Josip Stanii and Ibrahimovi both had great chances turned away. In the 74th minute, Daz took a phenomenal cross-field pass from Ibrahimovi and ripped a shot that hit the crossbar and dipped back down over the goal line. Diaz right back in midseason form,Joo Gomes pulled one back for Aston Villa inthe 83rd minute with a nice goal. In the 84th minute, Manuel Neuer made a spectacular save to keep the lead. Wowthat was a vintage Neuer stop on a close-range header with some force.Overall, Bayern Munich did what it needed to do. Kompany seems to be very confident in his young players and he has trusted them with big responsibility during this preseason. That has allowed the coaching staff to ease the veterans into the preseason and even rest a guy like Joshua Kimmich, who is still feeling the effects of an injury sustained during the World Cup. Benji Gosnell has looked like a future NFL player in his career, while JaRicous Hairston is a very solid contributor. This offseason, Howle, who also doubles as the tight ends coach, had two tight ends follow him and Franklin from Penn State: Luke Reynolds and Matt Henderson. While Henderson may not make an impact this year because hes only a redshirt freshman, Reynolds is considered one of college footballs tight ends.
